{"id":40527,"date":"2023-01-17T03:03:43","date_gmt":"2023-01-17T08:03:43","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/autosector.com\/?p=40527"},"modified":"2023-01-17T03:03:43","modified_gmt":"2023-01-17T08:03:43","slug":"vw-id4-shipping-without-heat-pump","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"http:\/\/autosector.com\/?p=40527","title":{"rendered":"VW ID.4 Is Being Shipped Without A Heat Pump Due To Semiconductor Shortage"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Volkswagen has stopped putting heat pumps in the US-made ID.4 electric crossover since late December 2022, due to the semiconductor shortage that still affects some car manufacturers.<\/p>\n<p>The news comes via <em>Drive Tesla Canada<\/em>, which got an email from a reader saying that <a href=\"https:\/\/insideevs.com\/volkswagen\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\" data-inline-widget=\"internal-links\">Volkswagen<\/a> told him his yet-to-be-delivered <a href=\"https:\/\/insideevs.com\/volkswagen\/id-4\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\" data-inline-widget=\"internal-links\">ID.4<\/a> won\u2019t have the heat pump he ordered. An important mention here is that only Canada-bound vehicles are affected by this change, as the ID.4 isn&#8217;t available with a heat pump in the US.<\/p>\n<p>A company spokesperson confirmed the information and added that VW doesn\u2019t know when the shortage will end and when it will be able to add heat pumps back into production at its factory in Chattanooga, Tennessee.<\/p>\n<p>This report comes just a few days after <a href=\"https:\/\/insideevs.com\/news\/631169\/audi-no-heat-pumps-q4\/\" data-inline-widget=\"internal-links\" data-type-id=\"0\" data-params=\"%7B%22article_edition_id%22%3A%22631169%22%2C%22section%22%3A%221%22%2C%22alias%22%3A%22audi-no-heat-pumps-q4%22%7D\">Audi announced it won\u2019t ship any more Q4 e-trons with heat pumps<\/a> because of supply chain issues.
