{"id":42092,"date":"2023-02-04T21:06:22","date_gmt":"2023-02-05T02:06:22","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/autosector.com\/?p=42092"},"modified":"2023-02-04T21:06:22","modified_gmt":"2023-02-05T02:06:22","slug":"tesla-cybertrucks-4-wheel-steering-at-work-video","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"http:\/\/autosector.com\/?p=42092","title":{"rendered":"Watch Tesla Cybertruck&#8217;s impressive 4-wheel steering at work"},"content":{"rendered":"<figure class=\"img-border featured-image\">\n\t\t<img fetchpriority=\"high\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"skip-lazy\" src=\"https:\/\/electrek.co\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/3\/2023\/02\/Tesla-Cybertruck-4-wheel-steering.jpg?quality=82&amp;strip=all&amp;w=1600\" srcset=\"https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/electrek.co\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/3\/2023\/02\/Tesla-Cybertruck-4-wheel-steering.jpg?w=320&amp;quality=82&amp;strip=all&amp;ssl=1 320w, https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/electrek.co\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/3\/2023\/02\/Tesla-Cybertruck-4-wheel-steering.jpg?w=640&amp;quality=82&amp;strip=all&amp;ssl=1 640w, https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/electrek.co\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/3\/2023\/02\/Tesla-Cybertruck-4-wheel-steering.jpg?w=1024&amp;quality=82&amp;strip=all&amp;ssl=1 1024w, https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/electrek.co\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/3\/2023\/02\/Tesla-Cybertruck-4-wheel-steering.jpg?w=1500&amp;quality=82&amp;strip=all&amp;ssl=1 1500w\" width=\"1600\" height=\"781\" alt=\"Tesla Cybertruck 4-wheel steering\" fetchpriority=\"high\"\/><br \/>\n\t<\/figure>\n<p>A new video of the Tesla Cybertruck\u2019s impressive 4-wheel steering at work has leaked -giving us the best look at the feature yet.<\/p>\n<p><span id=\"more-280739\"\/><ins class=\"adsbygoogle author_ad ad-container adsbygoogle author_ad hide-lg author-in-content\" data-ad-host=\"ca-host-pub-5506057612223327\" data-ad-client=\"ca-pub-4655152367470280\" data-ad-format=\"auto\"\/><\/p>\n<p>Rear-wheel steering is quickly becoming a must-have feature for electric pickup trucks coming to market.<\/p>\n<p>Rear-wheel steering, or four-wheel steering, is the ability to steer the rear axle, generally to a smaller degree than the front wheel, and to create a tighter and more precise turning radius. <\/p>\n<p>GMC started the dance by demonstrating \u201cCrab Mode\u2019 utilizing rear-wheel steering on the Hummer EV.<\/p>\n<p>Several other automakers have since announced rear-wheel-steering and\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/electrek.co\/2021\/07\/03\/tesla-cybertruck-4-wheel-steering-hummer-ev-crab-mode\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Tesla followed by announcing that the Cybertruck will have the capacity<\/a> back in 2021.<\/p>\n<p>Tesla CEO Elon Musk announced last summer:<\/p>\n<blockquote class=\"wp-block-quote\" readability=\"6\">\n<p><em>\u201cWe\u2019re adding rear wheel steering, so it can do tight turns and maneuver with high agility.\u201d<\/em><\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p>Last year, we saw a quick video of the Cybertruck showcasing the feature for a second, but now we have a much better look thanks to Twitter user TokyoTesla.<\/p>\n<p>They posted a much longer video of the Cybertruck more clearly featuring the 4-wheel steering capability:<\/p>\n<figure class=\"wp-block-embed alignwide is-type-rich is-provider-twitter wp-block-embed-twitter\"\/>\n<p>In the video, we can see the rear wheels actively turning, which confirms the rear-wheel steering on the electric pickup truck.<\/p>\n<p>Musk commented on the video without actually addressing the feature:<\/p>\n<blockquote class=\"wp-block-quote\" readability=\"10\">\n<p>Very hard car to build, as it is unlike any other, but, as stated publicly, Cybertruck production starts this year.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p>Tesla recently said that\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/electrek.co\/2023\/01\/26\/tesla-updates-cybertruck-production-timeline-temper-expectations\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">it aims to bring the Cybertruck to production this summer<\/a>, but we shouldn\u2019t expect significant deliveries until 2024, when the automaker will ramp up to volume production.<\/p>\n<p>The automaker also confirmed having built a new fleet of Cybertruck Beta prototypes. <a href=\"https:\/\/electrek.co\/2023\/02\/02\/tesla-cybertruck-beta-prototype-spotted\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">One was spotted in Palo Alto<\/a> earlier this week.<\/p>\n<p>It\u2019s not clear if this new video is of a beta prototype as it appears to look closer to the alpha prototypes with the large side mirror and lack of tonneau cover.<\/p>\n<p>The video also appears to have been filmed at Gigafactory Texas \u2013 possibly during the last event where the Cybertruck was featured.<\/p>\n<p>Nonetheless, it\u2019s the best look at the Cybertruck\u2019s rear-wheel steering we have seen yet.
