So this may be just one of many impending announcements for Mexican-made EVs.<\/p>\n<p>The automaker is investing $865 million to prepare the San Luis Potos\u00ed factory, which opened in 2019 and currently builds BMW 3-Series and 2-Series models, for EV production. That includes $541 million for a new battery-assembly facility.<\/p>\n<p data-pm-slice=\"1 1 []\">The Neue Klasse will reportedly <a href=\"https:\/\/www.greencarreports.com\/news\/1135809_2025-bmw-electric-sedan-could-split-3-series-while-i5-and-i7-preserve-ice-form\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">split the 3-Series<\/a> into dedicated EV and internal-combustion platforms, contrasting the i5 and i7 EVs using carryover internal-combustion underpinnings.
