{"id":43547,"date":"2023-02-23T12:03:13","date_gmt":"2023-02-23T17:03:13","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/autosector.com\/?p=43547"},"modified":"2023-02-23T12:03:13","modified_gmt":"2023-02-23T17:03:13","slug":"1138848_2024-ford-explorer-spy-shots","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"http:\/\/autosector.com\/?p=43547","title":{"rendered":"2024 Ford Explorer spy shots"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.motorauthority.com\/news\/explorer\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Ford&#8217;s Explorer<\/a> is about to go under the knife for a nip and tuck.<\/p>\n<p>Camouflaged prototypes for the updated three-row mid-size SUV have been spotted, hinting at some of the changes we can expect.<\/p>\n<p><span id=\"static-marker-video-player-primis\"\/><\/p>\n<p>There are prototypes for both the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.motorauthority.com\/news\/1138304_2022-ford-explorer-timberline-test-drive-review\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">rugged Timberline<\/a> and <a href=\"https:\/\/www.motorauthority.com\/news\/1123694_first-drive-review-2020-ford-explorer-st-dances-with-the-family-and-its-a-ball\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">sporty ST<\/a> grades, and the camouflage gear on the testers hint at new fascias front and rear, as well as revised lights.<\/p>\n<p>There are also some shots of the interior of the ST prototype. They reveal a new digital instrument cluster and a large landscape-oriented infotainment screen. The updated Explorer should arrive later this year as a 2024 model. <a href=\"https:\/\/www.motorauthority.com\/news\/1138449_2024-lincoln-aviator-spy-shots\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Prototypes for the updated Aviator<\/a> are also out testing, with the Lincoln expected to arrive in updated form together with its Ford counterpart.<\/p>\n<p>There&#8217;s also a unique version of the Explorer that&#8217;s sold in China. The base option in the current Explorer is a 300-hp turbo-4. Above this is a 318-hp hybrid V-6 and at the top of the range is a 400-hp turbo V-6.<\/p>\n<p>Electric versions of both the Explorer and Aviator are also in the works. They will use a <a href=\"https:\/\/www.motorauthority.com\/news\/1132391_electric-explorer-2-ev-platforms-part-of-ford-s-30b-investment-on-electrification\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">new dedicated EV platform<\/a> Ford announced in 2021, and are expected to arrive for the 2025 model year.
