However, now reports are surfacing that VW may go at it alone with a new US factory.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span>EVs are clearly catching on across the globe, and there&#8217;s been a notable spike in EV adoption in the States of late. This may help convince global automakers to move more EV manufacturing to our shores. Not to mention the fact that the <a href=\"https:\/\/insideevs.com\/news\/605746\/explained-updated-ev-tax-credit\/\" data-inline-widget=\"internal-links\" data-type-id=\"0\" data-params=\"%7B%22article_edition_id%22%3A%22605746%22%2C%22section%22%3A%221%22%2C%22alias%22%3A%22explained-updated-ev-tax-credit%22%7D\">newly revamped US federal EV tax credit<\/a> will provide a much greater benefit to domestically produced electric cars with batteries and materials that are locally sourced.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span><a href=\"https:\/\/insideevs.com\/volkswagen\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\" data-inline-widget=\"internal-links\">Volkswagen<\/a> officially owns all rights to the Scout brand. The global powerhouse automaker has already made it clear it hopes to revive the brand as an EV-only division that&#8217;s specifically geared to the US market.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span>With that said, according to\u00a0<\/span><span><em>Automotive News Europ<\/em>e,\u00a0<\/span><span>sources at Volkswagen Group reportedly shared with\u00a0<\/span><em><span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.automobilwoche.de\/bc-online\/exklusiv-volkswagen-baut-komplett-neues-werk-den-usa\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Automobilwoche<\/a>\u00a0<\/span><\/em><span>that the automotive group is going to build its own factory in the US for <a href=\"https:\/\/insideevs.com\/news\/588331\/volkswagen-looking-us-sites-for-new-factory-build-scout-evs\/\" data-inline-widget=\"internal-links\" data-type-id=\"0\" data-params=\"%7B%22article_edition_id%22%3A%22588331%22%2C%22section%22%3A%221%22%2C%22alias%22%3A%22volkswagen-looking-us-sites-for-new-factory-build-scout-evs%22%7D\">the upcoming Scout EV brand<\/a>, which is planned for production in 2026. The sources at the automotive manufacturer reportedly said:<\/span><\/p>\n<h2>&#8220;The decision to build the plant ourselves has been taken.&#8221;<\/h2>\n<p>Volkswagen Group&#8217;s Scout EV brand aims to introduce an <a href=\"https:\/\/insideevs.com\/news\/614500\/volkswagen-scout-electric-pickup-suv-be-true-off-roaders\/\" data-inline-widget=\"internal-links\" data-type-id=\"0\" data-params=\"%7B%22article_edition_id%22%3A%22614500%22%2C%22section%22%3A%221%22%2C%22alias%22%3A%22volkswagen-scout-electric-pickup-suv-be-true-off-roaders%22%7D\">electric pickup truck and an off-road SUV<\/a> as its initial offerings.
