The hot-rodded coupe will offer enthusiasts a more powerful engine and track-bred chassis updates.<\/p>\n<p>Without citing sources, Japanese magazine <em>Best Car<\/em> <a href=\"https:\/\/bestcarweb-jp.translate.goog\/news\/scoop\/595466?_x_tr_sl=auto&amp;_x_tr_tl=en&amp;_x_tr_hl=en-US&amp;_x_tr_pto=nui\" data-ylk=\"elm:context_link;itc:0;pos:1;sec:donut-hole;cpos:2;\">wrote<\/a> that Nissan is funneling the lessons it has <a href=\"https:\/\/www.autoblog.com\/2022\/11\/04\/nissan-z-gt4-race-car\/\" data-ylk=\"elm:context_link;itc:0;pos:1;sec:donut-hole;cpos:3;\">learned from decades of racing<\/a> into the upcoming Z Nismo. Some of the changes that will set the Nismo apart from the standard Z will be hidden under the body: Engineers will make modifications to the suspension system, and they&#8217;ll redesign parts of the undercarriage to improve airflow. Some of the changes will be a lot more obvious: The publication notably highlights a deeper front bumper that will add about four inches to the Z&#8217;s overall length.<\/p>\n<p>None of this is official, but the exterior updates described fall in line with the photos (pictured) our spy photographers <a href=\"https:\/\/www.autoblog.com\/2022\/12\/19\/nissan-z-nismo-spy-photos\/\" data-ylk=\"elm:context_link;itc:0;pos:1;sec:donut-hole;cpos:4;\">sent us in late 2022<\/a>. Our <a class=\"injectedLinkmain\" href=\"https:\/\/www.autoblog.com\/category\/spy-photos\/\" data-ylk=\"elm:context_link;itc:0;pos:1;sec:donut-hole;cpos:5;\">spy photos<\/a> also suggest that the Nismo will receive a vented hood, model-specific side skirts, and a redesigned rear bumper.<\/p>\n<p>Power will continue to come from a twin-turbocharged, 3.0-liter V6 engine, but <em>Best Car<\/em> claims that software changes will increase its output to about 420 horsepower (up from 400 in <a href=\"https:\/\/www.autoblog.com\/2022\/07\/14\/2023-nissan-z-road-test\/\" data-ylk=\"elm:context_link;itc:0;pos:1;sec:donut-hole;cpos:6;\">the regular-production model<\/a> but down from the 500-horse output that earlier <a class=\"injectedLinkmain\" href=\"https:\/\/www.autoblog.com\/category\/rumormill\/\" data-ylk=\"elm:context_link;itc:0;pos:1;sec:donut-hole;cpos:7;\">rumors<\/a> have floated) while letting the driver go further into the upper echelons of the rev range. Rear-wheel drive and a six-speed manual transmission will come standard, and a nine-speed automatic transmission will be offered at an extra cost. Beefier <a class=\"injectedLinkmain\" href=\"https:\/\/www.autoblog.com\/tag\/brakes\/\" data-ylk=\"elm:context_link;itc:0;pos:1;sec:donut-hole;cpos:8;\">brakes<\/a> will help keep the extra power in check.<\/p>\n<p>Nissan hasn&#8217;t commented on the report, and it hasn&#8217;t announced plans to launch a Nismo-developed Z.
