Ascend Elements, a U.S.-based battery recycling and engineered materials company, announced a basic agreement with\u00a0Honda Motor Co.to collaborate on stable procurement of recycled lithium-ion battery materials for Honda electric vehicles in North America.<\/p>\n

Ascend Elements has recycled used lithium-ion batteries for\u00a0American Honda Motor Co.\u00a0since 2021. The new agreement is an important step toward creating a closed-loop supply chain for recycled battery materials \u2013 including lithium, nickel, and cobalt \u2013\u00a0leveraging the efficiencies and environmental benefits of Ascend Elements\u2019 patented Hydro-to-Cathode\u2122 direct precursor synthesis process.\u00a0Ascend Elements\u2019\u00a0commercial products include recycled lithium, nickel, and cobalt, as well as\u00a0sustainable cathode precursor (pCAM) and cathode active materials (CAM) \u2013 all made from used lithium-ion batteries and gigafactory manufacturing scrap.<\/p>\n
