They also talked about &#8220;meat and potato&#8221; topics like cutting costs, improving margins, and EV-charging infrastructure.<\/p>\n<p>The keys to winning the EV race will come down to product appeal, software or user interface, controlling cost, and consistent execution, he said.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;And Tesla right now is one <a class=\"injectedLinkmain\" href=\"https:\/\/www.autoblog.com\/article\/best-power-generators\/\" data-ylk=\"elm:context_link;itc:0;pos:1;sec:donut-hole;cpos:5;\">generation<\/a> ahead of the other automakers,&#8221; Fields said, though rivals like Ford and <a class=\"injectedLinkmain\" href=\"https:\/\/www.autoblog.com\/hyundai\/\" data-ylk=\"elm:context_link;itc:0;pos:1;sec:donut-hole;cpos:6;\">Hyundai<\/a> are making a lot of progress. &#8220;Tesla still has the leg-up on the competition, and I think they demonstrated that yesterday.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>Tesla stock tumbled around 7% after Wednesday&#8217;s presentation disappointed investors by not confirming any <a href=\"https:\/\/www.npr.org\/2023\/03\/01\/1160376253\/tesla-elon-musk-investor-day-master-plan\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\" data-ylk=\"elm:context_link;itc:0;pos:1;sec:donut-hole;cpos:7;\">new car models<\/a>.
