{"id":44159,"date":"2023-03-03T12:03:47","date_gmt":"2023-03-03T17:03:47","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/autosector.com\/?p=44159"},"modified":"2023-03-03T12:03:47","modified_gmt":"2023-03-03T17:03:47","slug":"china-tesla-wholesale-sales-february2023","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"http:\/\/autosector.com\/?p=44159","title":{"rendered":"China: Tesla Model 3\/Model Y Wholesale Sales Increased In February 2023"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>In February 2023, Tesla once again increased wholesale sales of Made-in-China (MIC) Model 3\/Model Y electric cars in China.<\/p>\n<p>According to the China Passenger Car Association (CPCA)&#8217;s data, the overall wholesale vehicle shipments (local retail sales and export) amounted to 74,402 units, which is almost 32 percent more than a year ago.<\/p>\n<p>Not only that, the latest result is also better than <a href=\"https:\/\/insideevs.com\/news\/651486\/china-tesla-retail-ev-sales-january2023\/\">in January (66,051)<\/a> and in December (55,796).<\/p>\n<p><em>* CPCA reports wholesale shipments, not registrations\/customer deliveries.<\/em><\/p>\n<p>The crucial element behind the positive results in the past two months was <a href=\"https:\/\/insideevs.com\/news\/630106\/tesla-model3-modely-prices-china-january2023\/\">the price reduction<\/a> (l<a href=\"https:\/\/insideevs.com\/news\/652055\/china-tesla-model-y-price-increased-february2022\/\">ater adjusted a bit<\/a>).<\/p>\n<section class=\"trinity-skip-it\" contenteditable=\"false\" draggable=\"true\" data-widget=\"special_image\" data-align=\"center\">\n<div class=\"spi_wrapper\"><a class=\"lightzoom\" href=\"https:\/\/cdn.motor1.com\/images\/custom\/tesla-model-3y-mic-china-02-2023-a.png\"> <img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"custom-image\" draggable=\"false\" src=\"https:\/\/cdn.motor1.com\/images\/custom\/thumbnail\/tesla-model-3y-mic-china-02-2023-a.png\" alt=\"external_image\" width=\"914\" height=\"414\" loading=\"lazy\"\/> <\/a><\/div>\n<\/section>\n<p>So far this year, the total volume amounted to 140,453 MIC cars, which is close to 21 percent more than a year ago.<\/p>\n<p>We expect that Tesla should not have any issues with exceeding last year&#8217;s results in the next few months because they were affected by lockdowns. Things will get really interesting in the second part of the year.<\/p>\n<p>The main question is whether Tesla will be able to once again exceed 80,000 or even 100,000 units (like it once did).<\/p>\n<p>Meanwhile, <a href=\"https:\/\/insideevs.com\/news\/652653\/report-tesla-halt-model3-production-shanghai\/\"><em>Bloomberg<\/em> reported two weeks ago that the Giga Shanghai plant will temporarily halt production in the second part of February<\/a>.
