The electric sedan is roughly the same size as a Camry and starts at the equivalent of just over $27,000. Chinese consumers can now reserve their own bZ3 for 2,000 RMB ($290).<\/p>\n<p>The bZ3 is based on the same\u00a0e-TNGA platform as the <a href=\"https:\/\/insideevs.com\/toyota\/bz4x\/\" data-inline-widget=\"internal-links\" data-type-id=\"1\" data-params=\"%7B%22make_alias%22%3A%22toyota%22%2C%22alias%22%3A%22bz4x%22%7D\">bZ4X<\/a> and has a claimed CLTC range of 373 miles. A surprising move, especially given the popularity of the Camry and Corolla in North America.<\/p>\n<p>Toyota&#8217;s sole electric offering in the US, the bZ4X, has been a mixed success thus far. With underwhelming performance figures and <a href=\"https:\/\/insideevs.com\/news\/624778\/toyota-investigation-bz4x-range\/\" data-inline-widget=\"internal-links\" data-type-id=\"0\" data-params=\"%7B%22article_edition_id%22%3A%22624778%22%2C%22section%22%3A%221%22%2C%22alias%22%3A%22toyota-investigation-bz4x-range%22%7D\">limited real-world range<\/a>, the bZ4X has struggled against the likes of the <a href=\"https:\/\/insideevs.com\/tesla\/model-y\/\" data-inline-widget=\"internal-links\" data-type-id=\"1\" data-params=\"%7B%22make_alias%22%3A%22tesla%22%2C%22alias%22%3A%22model-y%22%7D\">Tesla Model Y<\/a> and <a href=\"https:\/\/insideevs.com\/ford\/mach-e\/\" data-inline-widget=\"internal-links\" data-type-id=\"1\" data-params=\"%7B%22make_alias%22%3A%22ford%22%2C%22alias%22%3A%22mach-e%22%7D\">Ford Mustang Mach-E<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>There was also a controversial bZ4X recall. Last summer reports of<a href=\"https:\/\/insideevs.com\/news\/593990\/toyota-bz4x-recall\/\" data-inline-widget=\"internal-links\" data-type-id=\"0\" data-params=\"%7B%22article_edition_id%22%3A%22593990%22%2C%22section%22%3A%221%22%2C%22alias%22%3A%22toyota-bz4x-recall%22%7D\">\u00a0bZ4X wheels falling off <\/a>emerged and soon\u00a0a full recall was issued.
