But while gas-, hybrid-, and battery-powered versions of Kona and Kona N-Line are part of the plan, one trim was conspicuously absent.<\/p>\n<p>Yep, I\u2019m talking about the fire-breathing <a href=\"https:\/\/www.motor1.com\/hyundai\/kona-n\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Kona N<\/a>. And based on a conversation at the <a href=\"https:\/\/insideevs.com\/hyundai\/kona-electric\/\" data-inline-widget=\"internal-links\" data-type-id=\"1\" data-params=\"%7B%22make_alias%22%3A%22hyundai%22%2C%22alias%22%3A%22kona-electric%22%7D\">Kona Electric\u2019<\/a>s <a href=\"https:\/\/insideevs.com\/news\/655866\/2024-hyundai-kona-electric-powertrain-specs-are-out\/\" data-inline-widget=\"internal-links\" data-type-id=\"0\" data-params=\"%7B%22article_edition_id%22%3A%22655866%22%2C%22section%22%3A%221%22%2C%22alias%22%3A%222024-hyundai-kona-electric-powertrain-specs-are-out%22%7D\">media preview in Berlin<\/a>, it sounds like the jury is still out on the tallest N model. Speaking to Hyundai\u2019s Sang Hyeon Park, senior vice president and head of EV strategy, and Se Hyuk Park, VP and head of compact vehicle projects, the real determining factor for a second-gen Kona N is the response to the upcoming <a href=\"https:\/\/insideevs.com\/news\/530250\/hyundai-ioniq5-n-spy-photos\/\" data-inline-widget=\"internal-links\" data-type-id=\"0\" data-params=\"%7B%22article_edition_id%22%3A%22530250%22%2C%22section%22%3A%221%22%2C%22alias%22%3A%22hyundai-ioniq5-n-spy-photos%22%7D\">Ioniq 5 N<\/a>. We are seeing the feedback and market reaction from the market about Ioniq 5 N.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>The news might come as a surprise, considering the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.motor1.com\/reviews\/601726\/2022-hyundai-kona-n-video-review\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">strong positive reception to the current Kona N<\/a>. We also have to fully consider CAFE. It\u2019s a difficult situation. The ICE N is not our consideration. Based on the feedback of Ioniq 5 N, we\u2019ll make a future decision.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>It will likely be some time before Hyundai ultimately makes up its mind on the potential N EV.
