Last month, the company delivered 7,002 EVs, which is nearly 55 percent less than a year ago.<\/p>\n<p>That&#8217;s the seventh consecutive decrease year-over-year, which is another worrying sign. The only good news appears to be a 17 percent increase compared to <a href=\"https:\/\/insideevs.com\/news\/655744\/xpeng-ev-sales-february2023\/\">February (6,010 units)<\/a>, but February is always a slower month in China.<\/p>\n<p><em>The overwhelming majority of XPeng sales are in China.<\/em><\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/insideevs.com\/xpeng\/\">XPeng<\/a> noted also that 3,030 deliveries fall on the P7 series sedans (the outgoing P7 and <a href=\"https:\/\/insideevs.com\/news\/657320\/2023-xpeng-p7i-facelift-adds-range-performance-and-tech-upgrades\/\">the all-new facelifted P7i<\/a> launched in March). The new P7i might be a turning point for XPeng later this year, but currently, it&#8217;s down 67 percent year-over-year (up 32 percent over February).<\/p>\n<blockquote readability=\"12\">\n<p>&#8220;The new sports sedan P7i, launched in March for the Chinese market, has generated favorable market reception and its order backlog is gathering strong momentum.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;The launch of the new P7i also boosted the Company\u2019s store traffic, pushing test drive volume to recent heights. Delivery of the P7i began nationwide in March.&#8221;<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p>The remaining 3,972 sales are the G3\/G3i, P5 and G9 flagship SUV. The Chinese company does not report the results of individual models anymore.<\/p>\n<p>Xpeng sales last month:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Total: 7,002 (down 55% year-over-year)<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<section class=\"trinity-skip-it\" contenteditable=\"false\" draggable=\"true\" data-widget=\"special_image\" data-align=\"center\">\n<div class=\"spi_wrapper\"><a class=\"lightzoom\" href=\"https:\/\/cdn.motor1.com\/images\/custom\/xpeng-ev-sales-march-2023.png\"> <img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"custom-image\" draggable=\"false\" src=\"https:\/\/cdn.motor1.com\/images\/custom\/thumbnail\/xpeng-ev-sales-march-2023.png\" alt=\"external_image\" width=\"914\" height=\"424\" loading=\"lazy\"\/> <\/a><\/div>\n<\/section>\n<p>So far this year, XPeng delivered more than 18,000 electric cars, which is 47 percent less than a year ago.<\/p>\n<p>Xpeng sales year-to-date:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Total: 18,230 (down 47% year-over-year)<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>For reference, <a href=\"https:\/\/insideevs.com\/news\/628910\/xpeng-ev-sales-december2022\/\">in 12 months of 2022, XPeng&#8217;s electric car sales exceeded 120,000 units<\/a>:<\/p>\n<p>As of March 31, 2023, cumulatively XPeng delivered 276,940 electric cars (the\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/insideevs.com\/news\/593523\/xpeng-200000-electric-cars-delivered\/\">200,000th car was delivered to customers in June<\/a>).<\/p>\n<p>It will be interesting to see whether the new\/refreshed models, combined with\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/insideevs.com\/news\/631623\/xpeng-cuts-prices-in-china-by-up-to-13-percent-ev-price-war-is-on\/\">price cuts in January<\/a>, and <a href=\"https:\/\/insideevs.com\/news\/650543\/xpeng-launches-g9-p7-europe\/\">expansion in Europe (G9\/P7)<\/a>, will bring better results &#8211; beyond 10,000 units per month.<\/p>\n<p>However, we must also remember that even then, it will not solve the <span class=\"corrected-phrase ng-star-inserted\" data-end=\"80\" data-originaltext=\"proftability\" data-start=\"69\" data-text=\"profitability\"><span class=\"corrected-phrase__displayed-text corrected-phrase__displayed-text_bubbled\" data-group=\"AutoCorrected\" data-suggestions=\"1\" data-type=\"Spelling\">profitability<\/span><\/span> issue, which is important for each EV startup.
