Believe it or not, it’s been 20 years since then, and in that time the Continental has become one of the world’s favorite grand tourers and luxury cars in general. Its elegant design, stunning craftsmanship, and exhilarating performance are just some of the qualities that make it something truly special, and on its 20th birthday year, Bentley is celebrating the Continental in a big way.

The Continental was also the Bentley that first introduced the celebrated W12 engine to the brand, and paired with all-wheel drive, the powerplant rendered the Continental an incredibly impressive performance machine, just as much as it was a beautiful and elegant cruiser. Both the Continental and the W12 engine turn 20 this year, and accordingly, Bentley will celebrate at the Goodwood Festival of Speed with a lineup of various W12-powered Bentleys, prominently the new Bentley Mulliner Batur, especially since Bentley will stop producing W12s in April 2024.

Now, however, Bentley is celebrating the Continental’s 20th anniversary at the Shanghai Auto Show with a one-of-one Continental GT S. It’s finished in Magnetic dark gray metallic, with black wheels and red brake calipers. Inside, the theme is continued with Beluga and Hotspur leather and Piano Black finishes. The car also features 20th-anniversary decorations throughout. To finish off the anniversary celebrations, Bentley has also announced a final one-of-one Continental GT Speed to be presented at Monterey Car Week this year which will be based on the original Green 2003 car that remains in Bentley’s possession, finishing a proper celebration of a legendary luxury coupe.

View All Bentley Continentals For Sale

 <picture class="lazyload"> </picture>

11 Photos

It was in 2003 when Bentley first introduced the Continental GT coupe to the world, its first all-new model under its Volkswagen Group ownership.
