It will serve as the brand\u2019s flagship offering, but those wanting a bit more comfort now have a two-row, four-seat option called the EX90 Excellence, which the company revealed in Shanghai.<\/p>\n<p>The most significant changes lie inside the model, with <a href=\"https:\/\/insideevs.com\/volvo\/\" data-inline-widget=\"internal-links\" data-type-id=\"2\" data-params=\"%7B%22alias%22%3A%22volvo%22%7D\">Volvo<\/a> removing the third-row seats. The automaker ups the luxury factor by replacing the second row with two individual seats separated by a center console. It also has a control panel for the heated and massaging seats, with mood lighting further enhancing the ambiance. Volvo upholsters the EX90 in a wool blend or Nordico made from recycled materials like PET bottles.<\/p>\n<p>Volvo made very few changes to the EX90 Excellence\u2019s exterior, sprucing up the styling with a two-tone paint scheme. The automaker also installs specially designed 22-inch forged rims onto the SUV. Volvo says it optimized them for aerodynamic performance.<\/p>\n<p>The EX90 Excellence features the same advanced technology base <a href=\"https:\/\/insideevs.com\/news\/620863\/volvo-ex90-revealed-xc90-replacement\/\" data-inline-widget=\"internal-links\" data-type-id=\"0\" data-params=\"%7B%22article_edition_id%22%3A%22620863%22%2C%22section%22%3A%221%22%2C%22alias%22%3A%22volvo-ex90-revealed-xc90-replacement%22%7D\">offered in the three-row variant<\/a>. It comes packed with safety features and sensors designed to make the vehicle aware of who is in it and what\u2019s around it. Chief commercial officer and deputy CEO Bjorn Annwall said, \u201cThe Chinese market is hugely important to our company, and the<a href=\"https:\/\/insideevs.com\/volvo\/ex90\/\" data-inline-widget=\"internal-links\" data-type-id=\"1\" data-params=\"%7B%22make_alias%22%3A%22volvo%22%2C%22alias%22%3A%22ex90%22%7D\"> EX90 Excellence<\/a> is created to meet demand for high-end, chauffeur-driven cars.\u201d Volvo is expected to <a href=\"https:\/\/insideevs.com\/news\/652057\/volvo-ex90-production-q4-2023\/\" data-inline-widget=\"internal-links\" data-type-id=\"0\" data-params=\"%7B%22article_edition_id%22%3A%22652057%22%2C%22section%22%3A%221%22%2C%22alias%22%3A%22volvo-ex90-production-q4-2023%22%7D\">begin EX90 production<\/a> in the US and China in the year\u2019s fourth quarter.<\/p>\n<p>The EX90 launched with a massive 111-kilowatt-hour battery pack and a dual-motor setup with all-wheel drive. The SUV can deliver up to 496 horsepower and 671 pound-feet of torque in its peak configuration.
