The auction house frequently has some of the world\u2019s most desirable vehicles, and one of them is heading for the block at Mecum\u2019s Indy auction next month. The 2009 Howe &amp; Howe <a href=\"https:\/\/www.autoblog.com\/2017\/05\/11\/video-ripsaw-luxury-supertank-translogic-218\/\" data-ylk=\"elm:context_link;itc:0;pos:1;sec:donut-hole;cpos:1;\">Ripsaw<\/a> tank from &#8220;<em>The Fate of the Furious&#8221;<\/em> movie will be <a href=\"https:\/\/www.mecum.com\/lots\/554411\/2009-howe-and-howe-ripsaw\/\" data-ylk=\"elm:context_link;itc:0;pos:1;sec:donut-hole;cpos:2;\">up for grabs<\/a>, and while it looks like it\u2019s seen better days, it\u2019s a tank that anyone can buy and drive off-road.<\/p>\n<p>The company has built several of these tanks over the years, primarily for <a class=\"injectedLinkmain\" href=\"https:\/\/www.autoblog.com\/tag\/military+vehicles\/\" data-ylk=\"elm:context_link;itc:0;pos:1;sec:donut-hole;cpos:3;\">military<\/a> and emergency personnel, but plenty have made their way into private hands. This unit is Howe &amp; Howe\u2019s original prototype, wearing VIN 000000001, and it comes with the original military-inspired paint seen in the movie. Beyond its role in the <em>Fast and the Furious<\/em> franchise, this Ripsaw was also used in <em>G.I. Joe<\/em> movies. A video on the vehicle\u2019s role in <a href=\"https:\/\/www.autoblog.com\/photos\/8-ridiculous-cars-from-fate-of-the-furious\/\" data-ylk=\"elm:context_link;itc:0;pos:1;sec:donut-hole;cpos:5;\"><em>&#8220;The Fate of the Furious&#8221;<\/em><\/a> showed it traveling at 60 mph over ice, tackling huge snow banks, and charging over jumps, so it\u2019s had some use. It\u2019s unclear how well it runs or how much <a class=\"injectedLinkmain\" href=\"https:\/\/www.autoblog.com\/auto-repair\/\" data-ylk=\"elm:context_link;itc:0;pos:1;sec:donut-hole;cpos:6;\">repair<\/a> work it will need to be ready for action, but the hand-written control labels in Sharpie suggest that it\u2019s not had the gentlest life.<\/p>\n<p>If you\u2019re hoping to get behind the yoke of this personal tank, get your wallet and off-road trails ready. The auction estimate is $150,000 to $180,000, and you won\u2019t be able to drive the Ripsaw on, or likely anywhere near, public roads.
