{"id":48272,"date":"2023-04-26T09:03:44","date_gmt":"2023-04-26T13:03:44","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/autosector.com\/?p=48272"},"modified":"2023-04-26T09:03:44","modified_gmt":"2023-04-26T13:03:44","slug":"buick-electra-e5-strong-start-china-8000-orders","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"http:\/\/autosector.com\/?p=48272","title":{"rendered":"Buick Electra E5 Sees Strong Start In China With 8,000 Orders"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>The Buick Electra E5, the brand&#8217;s first BEV based on General Motors&#8217; Ultium platform, has gotten off on the right foot in China.<\/p>\n<p>The electric mid-size SUV went on sale in China on April 13 and by April 25, the SAIC-GM joint venture announced that Buick already received more than 8,000 orders for the <a href=\"https:\/\/insideevs.com\/news\/627346\/buick-debuts-electra-e5-suv-china-its-first-ultium-based-ev\/\" data-inline-widget=\"internal-links\" data-type-id=\"0\" data-params=\"%7B%22article_edition_id%22%3A%22627346%22%2C%22section%22%3A%221%22%2C%22alias%22%3A%22buick-debuts-electra-e5-suv-china-its-first-ultium-based-ev%22%7D\">Electra E5<\/a>.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>The model starts at $30,200 (208,900 yuan) in China and offers customers a choice of three trim levels \u2013 Smart, Enjoy, and Avenir \u2013 and three different Ultium Battery pack and powertrain configurations, named Standard Range, Long Range, and AWD.<\/p>\n<p>The base variant features a 68-kilowatt-hour ternary battery pack with NMC (nickel manganese cobalt) chemistry. Built by a joint venture between <a href=\"https:\/\/insideevs.com\/news\/660046\/tesla-said-plan-us-battery-cell-plant-using-catl-lfp-tech\/\" data-inline-widget=\"internal-links\" data-type-id=\"0\" data-params=\"%7B%22article_edition_id%22%3A%22660046%22%2C%22section%22%3A%221%22%2C%22alias%22%3A%22tesla-said-plan-us-battery-cell-plant-using-catl-lfp-tech%22%7D\">CATL<\/a> and SAIC, the pack enables a driving range of 338 miles (545 kilometers) on China&#8217;s CLTC test cycle.<\/p>\n<p>There&#8217;s also an 80-kWh NMC ternary battery that&#8217;s said to give the Electra E5 up to 385 miles (620 km) of CLTC range. The range-topping Electra E5 Avenir AWD adds a rear-mounted motor for a total output of 283 hp (211 kW) and 343 lb-ft (464 Nm) of torque. This variant accelerates from zero to 62 mph in 6.7 seconds.<\/p>\n<p>The Electra E5 is bigger than the Envision but smaller than the Enclave, measuring 192.6 inches (4,892 millimeters) in length, 75 in (1,905 mm) in width, and 66.3 in (1,684 mm) in height.
