After the first four rounds of the 2023 Formula One World Championship, Red Bull Racing is already in a dominant position with its two drivers at the top of the Drivers’ Championship, and the team sitting on more than double the points of the next best team in the competition for the Constructors’ title.<\/p>\n
Reigning champion Max Verstappen and teammate Sergio Perez have each won two races, meaning the title fight is very close between the two Red Bull drivers. However, a total of 19 rounds remain, meaning a lot can still change over the course of the season.<\/p>\n
<\/p>\n In a surprise outcome this season, Aston Martin’s Fernando Alonso has proven to be the biggest threat to the Red Bull duo. In his debut season with Aston Martin, Alonso has already finished on the podium three times, taking third in each of the races run in Bahrain, Saudi Arabia, and Australia.<\/p>\n Ferrari continues to show impressive performance, though drivers Charles Leclerc and Carlos Sainz have been held back from moving up the points ladder due to reliability issues and crashes. The same can’t be said about Mercedes-Benz AMG, which hasn’t managed to improve the pace of its car so far this season, though there have been runs where the cars looked as fast as the Ferraris and Aston Martins, the latter also running Mercedes power units.<\/p>\n At the other end of the spectrum, McLaren’s Oscar Piastri has become the first of the season’s three rookie drivers to score some points. Piastri scored four points after finishing eighth at the Australian Grand Prix.
