{"id":49225,"date":"2023-05-09T09:03:31","date_gmt":"2023-05-09T13:03:31","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/autosector.com\/?p=49225"},"modified":"2023-05-09T09:03:31","modified_gmt":"2023-05-09T13:03:31","slug":"france-plugin-car-sales-april-2023","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"http:\/\/autosector.com\/?p=49225","title":{"rendered":"France: Plug-In Car Sales Improved In April 2023 &#8211; Over 30,000 Sold"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>New passenger car registrations in France increased in April by 22 percent year-over-year to 132,509, taking the year-to-date total to 553,399 (up 17 percent year-over-year).<\/p>\n<p>According to <em>L\u2019Avere-France<\/em>, last month some 30,227 new plug-in vehicles were registered in France (up 26 percent year-over-year), including 27,995 passenger plug-in cars (up 22 percent), which represented 21.1 percent of the market (the same as a year ago).<\/p>\n<p>Especially fast-growing are all-electric vehicles &#8211; the passenger cars were up 35 percent year-over-year (17,113), while the light commercial vehicles were up 125 percent year-over-year (2,194). Plug-in hybrids, on the other hand, are barely maintaining their last year&#8217;s volume.<\/p>\n<p>New plug-in vehicle registrations:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Passenger BEVs: 17,113 (up 35%) at 12.9% market share<\/li>\n<li>Passenger PHEVs: 10,882 (up 6%) at 8.2% market share<\/li>\n<li>Light commercial BEVs: 2,194 (up 125%) at 7.5% market share<\/li>\n<li>Light commercial PHEVs: 38 (down 24%)<\/li>\n<li>Total plug-ins: 30,227 (up 26%)<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<section contenteditable=\"false\" draggable=\"true\" data-widget=\"special_image\" data-align=\"center\">\n<div class=\"spi_wrapper\"><a class=\"lightzoom\" href=\"https:\/\/cdn.motor1.com\/images\/custom\/plug-in-car-sales-in-france-april-2023.png\"> <img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"custom-image\" draggable=\"false\" src=\"https:\/\/cdn.motor1.com\/images\/custom\/thumbnail\/plug-in-car-sales-in-france-april-2023.png\" alt=\"external_image\" width=\"916\" height=\"424\" loading=\"lazy\"\/> <\/a><\/div>\n<\/section>\n<p>So far this year, more than 137,000 new plug-in electric vehicles were registered in France (up 38 percent year-over-year), including over 129,000 passenger plug-in cars (up 22 percent year-over-year and 21.1 percent market share).<\/p>\n<p>Registrations year-to-date:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Passenger BEVs: 81,972 (up 46%) at 14.8% market share<\/li>\n<li>Passenger PHEVs: 47,398 (up 20%) at 8.6% market share<\/li>\n<li>Light commercial BEVs: 8,258 (up 98%)<\/li>\n<li>Light commercial PHEVs: 129 (down 43%)<\/li>\n<li>Total plug-ins: 137,757 (up 38%)<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>For reference, <a href=\"https:\/\/insideevs.com\/news\/631163\/france-plugin-car-sales-december2022\/\">in 2022, more than 346,000 new plug-in electric cars were registered in France<\/a>, <a href=\"https:\/\/insideevs.com\/news\/561101\/france-plugin-car-sales-2021\/\">compared to over 315,000 in 2021<\/a>.<\/p>\n<section contenteditable=\"false\" draggable=\"true\" data-widget=\"special_image\" data-align=\"center\">\n<div class=\"spi_wrapper\"><a class=\"lightzoom\" href=\"https:\/\/cdn.motor1.com\/images\/custom\/plug-in-car-sales-in-france-april-2023-b.png\"> <img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"custom-image\" draggable=\"false\" src=\"https:\/\/cdn.motor1.com\/images\/custom\/thumbnail\/plug-in-car-sales-in-france-april-2023-b.png\" alt=\"external_image\" width=\"914\" height=\"423\" loading=\"lazy\"\/> <\/a><\/div>\n<\/section>\n<p><em>*some data on the charts are estimated<\/em><\/p>\n<p>In terms of models, this time the best-selling one was the entry-level all-electric <a href=\"https:\/\/insideevs.com\/dacia\/\">Dacia<\/a> Spring (2,432), noticeably ahead of the <a href=\"https:\/\/insideevs.com\/peugeot\/e208\/\">Peugeot e-208<\/a> (1,563), <a href=\"https:\/\/insideevs.com\/fiat\/500e\/\">Fiat 500 electric<\/a> (1,365), <a href=\"https:\/\/insideevs.com\/tesla\/model-y\/\">Tesla Model Y<\/a> (1,333), and <a href=\"https:\/\/insideevs.com\/renault\/\">Renault<\/a> Megane E-Tech (1,184).<\/p>\n<p>So far this year, the top three BEVs in France (counting only passenger car registrations) are the Tesla Model Y (10,697), Dacia Spring (10,696 &#8211;
