{"id":49400,"date":"2023-05-11T06:03:29","date_gmt":"2023-05-11T10:03:29","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/autosector.com\/?p=49400"},"modified":"2023-05-11T06:03:29","modified_gmt":"2023-05-11T10:03:29","slug":"fisker-pear-ev-delayed-2025","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"http:\/\/autosector.com\/?p=49400","title":{"rendered":"Fisker Pear EV Delayed To 2025, Will Cost Less Than $35,000"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Fisker, the maker of the recently launched Ocean SUV, said that its second series production model has been delayed to \u201csome time in the first half of 2025,\u201d when it will be introduced at a higher price than originally intended.<\/p>\n<p>During the Financial Times Future of the Car conference, the company\u2019s CEO Henrik Fisker said that the upcoming Pear EV (which stands for Personal Electric Automotive Revolution) will cost less than 28,000 GBP (roughly $35,000) when it goes on sale in the United Kingdom.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cOur next vehicle will start probably under \u00a328,000, and it will be quite radical,\u201d Fisker said, quoted by <em>Autocar<\/em>. \u201cIn fact, it\u2019s so radical that we actually have to make some new production methods.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>The California-based EV startup <a href=\"https:\/\/insideevs.com\/news\/655910\/fisker-pear-range-and-price-announced\/\" data-inline-widget=\"internal-links\" data-type-id=\"0\" data-params=\"%7B%22article_edition_id%22%3A%22655910%22%2C%22section%22%3A%221%22%2C%22alias%22%3A%22fisker-pear-range-and-price-announced%22%7D\">initially said that the Pear will have a starting price of $29,900<\/a> and that production will start in 2024 at the <a href=\"https:\/\/insideevs.com\/news\/585668\/foxconn-completes-ohio-plant-purchase-endurance-ev-may-be-delayed\/\" data-inline-widget=\"internal-links\" data-type-id=\"0\" data-params=\"%7B%22article_edition_id%22%3A%22585668%22%2C%22section%22%3A%221%22%2C%22alias%22%3A%22foxconn-completes-ohio-plant-purchase-endurance-ev-may-be-delayed%22%7D\">Foxconn-owned factory in Ohio<\/a> where the <a href=\"https:\/\/insideevs.com\/lordstown-motors\/endurance\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\" data-inline-widget=\"internal-links\">Lordstown Endurance<\/a> electric pickup is currently being made.<\/p>\n<p>Speaking at the Financial Times event, <a href=\"https:\/\/insideevs.com\/fisker\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\" data-inline-widget=\"internal-links\">Fisker<\/a>\u2019s CEO said that the company\u2019s second model will come in two battery variants, one aimed at city-based customers offering between 100-150 miles of range and another with over 300 miles of range.<\/p>\n<blockquote readability=\"19\">\n<p>\u201cIn two years, you will see people realizing they don&#8217;t need that [big a] range, specifically if they have a second car,\u201d Fisker said. \u201cBut it doesn&#8217;t work today. There&#8217;s a few cars out there that have a 100-150 mile range and aren&#8217;t selling.<\/p>\n<p>I do think [an attitude shift is] going to happen in two years. So with the Pear, we will offer a small battery for those.<\/p>\n<p>Let&#8217;s say you have a second car and you live in London: you don&#8217;t need more than maybe 100-150 miles of range.
