{"id":49557,"date":"2023-05-13T00:03:40","date_gmt":"2023-05-13T04:03:40","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/autosector.com\/?p=49557"},"modified":"2023-05-13T00:03:40","modified_gmt":"2023-05-13T04:03:40","slug":"cupra-raval-is-new-name-small-ev-formerly-known-urbanrebel","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"http:\/\/autosector.com\/?p=49557","title":{"rendered":"Cupra Raval Is The New Name Of Small EV Formerly Known As UrbanRebel"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Volkswagen Group&#8217;s Cupra brand has announced that its upcoming small electric vehicle previously known as the UrbanRebel will be named Raval when it enters production in 2025.<\/p>\n<p>Named after the El Raval neighborhood in the heart of Barcelona, the Cupra Raval will be produced at SEAT&#8217;s headquarters in Martorell, Spain from 2025, with a <a href=\"https:\/\/insideevs.com\/news\/657415\/volkswagen-id2-all-concept-previews-the-peoples-electric-car\/\" data-inline-widget=\"internal-links\" data-type-id=\"0\" data-params=\"%7B%22article_edition_id%22%3A%22657415%22%2C%22section%22%3A%221%22%2C%22alias%22%3A%22volkswagen-id2-all-concept-previews-the-peoples-electric-car%22%7D\">Volkswagen model expected to be called ID.2<\/a> to join it later.<\/p>\n<p>The company will invest $3.25 billion (3 billion euros) to transform the plant from combustion to electrification and produce electric cars from 2025 based on Volkswagen Group&#8217;s MEB Small platform.<\/p>\n<p>The Cupra Raval and VW ID.2 will be two of <a href=\"https:\/\/insideevs.com\/news\/658689\/volkswagen-group-four-entry-level-evs-will-be-made-in-spain\/\" data-inline-widget=\"internal-links\" data-type-id=\"0\" data-params=\"%7B%22article_edition_id%22%3A%22658689%22%2C%22section%22%3A%221%22%2C%22alias%22%3A%22volkswagen-group-four-entry-level-evs-will-be-made-in-spain%22%7D\">four-entry level EVs that Volkswagen Group will build in Spain<\/a>, with the other ones being two SUVs that will be made in Pamplona \u2013 the VW ID.2X and an as-yet-unnamed Skoda model.<\/p>\n<blockquote readability=\"12\">\n<p>&#8220;The CUPRA Raval is not just another car.
