In 2020, the Roadster was delayed to 2021, and then pushed back by a year every year, <a href=\"https:\/\/insideevs.com\/news\/530354\/new-tesla-roadster-coming-2023\/\" data-inline-widget=\"internal-links\" data-type-id=\"0\" data-params=\"%7B%22article_edition_id%22%3A%22530354%22%2C%22section%22%3A%221%22%2C%22alias%22%3A%22new-tesla-roadster-coming-2023%22%7D\">including in 2022<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>Well, the good news is the wait is about to end, with Tesla planning to <a href=\"https:\/\/insideevs.com\/news\/566539\/tesla-working-feverishly-on-roadster\/\" data-inline-widget=\"internal-links\" data-type-id=\"0\" data-params=\"%7B%22article_edition_id%22%3A%22566539%22%2C%22section%22%3A%221%22%2C%22alias%22%3A%22tesla-working-feverishly-on-roadster%22%7D\">complete the Roadster&#8217;s design and engineering<\/a> by the end of this year, according to CEO Elon Musk. Where is that thing?&#8221; Musk jokingly replied. &#8220;We expect to complete the engineering and design of the next-gen Tesla Roadster this year and hopefully \u2013 this is not a commitment \u2013 start production next year.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>While the world is now used to Musk&#8217;s unreliable product timelines, this time he might be on to something, as he seemed confident that engineering and design would be completed this year.
