{"id":50188,"date":"2023-05-22T03:03:17","date_gmt":"2023-05-22T07:03:17","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/autosector.com\/?p=50188"},"modified":"2023-05-22T03:03:17","modified_gmt":"2023-05-22T07:03:17","slug":"tesla-model-3-ad-video-singapore","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"http:\/\/autosector.com\/?p=50188","title":{"rendered":"Tesla Rolls Out \u201cDrive To Believe\u201d Video As It Tries Its Hand At Advertising"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Tesla has published a video that some people are calling the brand\u2019s first attempt at real advertising, with Elon Musk\u2019s aim to create ads that look like \u201ccontent\u201d looking closer than ever.<\/p>\n<p>Published on the official <em>Tesla Asia<\/em> Twitter account, the two-minute long video is called \u201cDrive to Believe\u201d and is basically the testimonial of a Singaporean <a href=\"https:\/\/insideevs.com\/tesla\/model-3\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\" data-inline-widget=\"internal-links\">Model 3<\/a> customer who outlines her buying experience and what she believes are the best features of the all-electric sedan.<\/p>\n<p>The main takeaways are that the American EV makes her and her family feel safe while traveling, the kids have a lot of entertainment options, and driving an electric car eliminates the need to go to a filling station where there are nasty smells and fumes.<\/p>\n<section class=\"embed-item\" contenteditable=\"false\" draggable=\"true\" data-widget=\"embed\" data-embed-code=\"%3Cblockquote%20class%3D%22twitter-tweet%22%3E%3Cp%20lang%3D%22en%22%20dir%3D%22ltr%22%3EDrive%20to%20believe%E2%80%94%E2%80%94why%20she%20chose%20Tesla%3F%20%E2%9D%A4%EF%B8%8F%20%3Ca%20href%3D%22https%3A%2F%2Ft.co%2FLXtGl15QUy%22%3Epic.twitter.com%2FLXtGl15QUy%3C%2Fa%3E%3C%2Fp%3E%26mdash%3B%20Tesla%20Asia%20(%40Tesla_Asia)%20%3Ca%20href%3D%22https%3A%2F%2Ftwitter.com%2FTesla_Asia%2Fstatus%2F1659426844704374785%3Fref_src%3Dtwsrc%255Etfw%22%3EMay%2019%2C%202023%3C%2Fa%3E%3C%2Fblockquote%3E%20%3Cscript%20async%20src%3D%22https%3A%2F%2Fplatform.twitter.com%2Fwidgets.js%22%20charset%3D%22utf-8%22%3E%3C%2Fscript%3E%20\">\u00a0<\/section>\n<p>It\u2019s a first step in the direction indicated by <a href=\"https:\/\/insideevs.com\/tesla\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\" data-inline-widget=\"internal-links\">Tesla<\/a> CEO <a href=\"https:\/\/insideevs.com\/news\/category\/elon-musk\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\" data-inline-widget=\"internal-links\">Elon Musk<\/a> less than a week ago during the company\u2019s shareholders meeting in Texas, when he made the unscripted decision to \u201ctry a little advertising and see how it goes,\u201d in a reply to an investor from the crowd.<\/p>\n<p>During <a href=\"https:\/\/insideevs.com\/news\/667639\/tesla-will-try-advertising-elon-musk-says\/\" data-inline-widget=\"internal-links\" data-type-id=\"0\" data-params=\"%7B%22article_edition_id%22%3A%22667639%22%2C%22section%22%3A%221%22%2C%22alias%22%3A%22tesla-will-try-advertising-elon-musk-says%22%7D\">an interview with CNBC after the meeting<\/a>, Musk said that he believes in taking suggestions and that ads would need to be truthful and aesthetically pleasing, adding that if they\u2019re \u201cinformative and entertaining, it approaches content.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>To Tesla Asia\u2019s credit, the video checks all the boxes outlined by Musk, but there is something that\u2019s missing: it\u2019s still an official Tesla video, published on one of the company\u2019s official Twitter accounts.<\/p>\n<p>When replying to the question about advertising at the company\u2019s meeting, Musk said that there are already a lot of people following his and Tesla\u2019s Twitter accounts, so publishing flattering things about the American EVs on these spaces would mean \u201cpreaching to the choir and the choir is already convinced.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>In other words, to get the message across to those people who are unconvinced or don\u2019t even know about EVs, Tesla would need to publish its ads where these people would see them, be it through a Google Ads campaign which would include YouTube or maybe more traditional outlets like TV.<\/p>\n<p>But what are your thoughts on this latest video from Tesla?
