In 2023, the company sold 87,340 vehicles (up 1.8% year-over-year).<\/p>\n<p>Despite there not being much growth in\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/insideevs.com\/mitsubishi\/\">Mitsubishi<\/a> car sales, the Japanese brand managed to at least improve its electrification ratio thanks to the upgraded <a href=\"https:\/\/insideevs.com\/mitsubishi\/outlander-phev\/\">Outlander PHEV<\/a>.<\/p>\n<section class=\"infobox\" contenteditable=\"false\" draggable=\"true\" data-widget=\"infobox\" readability=\"1\">\n<h3 class=\"infobox--title\"><span class=\"arrow-holder\"><svg class=\"arrow-heading\"><use xlink:href=\"https:\/\/insideevs.com\/design\/dist\/critical\/icons\/sprite-common-0-dc6b7de11d922cb73553899f27128303.svg#sqr-arrow\"\/><\/svg><\/span>Get Fully Charged<\/h3>\n<div class=\"infobox--wrapper\" readability=\"10\">\n<p class=\"infobox--subheadline\">Mitsubishi does not offer all-electric cars yet<\/p>\n<div class=\"infobox--text\" readability=\"36\">\n<p>Mitsubishi currently offers only one plug-in hybrid model\u2014the Outlander PHEV\u2014but in the next couple of years, it intends to introduce some all-electric models as well. The company&#8217;s first all-electric model was the i (or i-MiEV), although it was a decade ago.<\/p>\n<\/p><\/div>\n<\/p><\/div>\n<\/section>\n<p>In Q4, Mitsubishi sold 1,577 Mitsubishi Outlander PHEV, which is 90% more than a year ago and a decent 8.0% of the total volume.<\/p>\n<p>As always, interesting is the comparison between the standard gasoline Outlander (8,979 sales) and the plug-in hybrid version. The share out of Mitsubishi&#8217;s total volume improved to 7.6% (compared to 2-3% in the previous years).<\/p>\n<p>Nonetheless, the ICE Outlander still attracts far more customers with 42,501 sales in 2023.<\/p>\n<p>Mitsubishi plug-in car sales in Q1-Q4&#8217;2023 (YOY change):<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Mitsubishi Outlander PHEV: 6,681 (up 241%) and 7.6% share<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>For reference, in 2022, Mitsubishi PHEV sales amounted to 1,961 (2.3% of the total volume).<\/p>\n<section contenteditable=\"false\" draggable=\"true\" data-widget=\"special_image\" data-align=\"center\">\n<div class=\"spi_wrapper\"><a class=\"lightzoom\" href=\"https:\/\/cdn.motor1.com\/images\/custom\/mitsubishi-outlander-phev-sales-in-the-us-q4-2023-b.png\"> <img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"custom-image\" draggable=\"false\" src=\"https:\/\/cdn.motor1.com\/images\/custom\/thumbnail\/mitsubishi-outlander-phev-sales-in-the-us-q4-2023-b.png\" alt=\"external_image\" width=\"904\" height=\"428\" loading=\"lazy\"\/> <\/a><\/div>\n<\/section>\n<p>Let&#8217;s recall that the Mitsubishi Outlander PHEV with a 20-kilowatt-hour battery has an EPA all-electric range of 38 miles (and a total range of 420 miles).
