That can make it challenging to find a deal, especially on the used market, where prices can be all over the map. iSeeCars<\/em><\/a> recently analyzed used car data to find the best used SUVs, basing their recommendations on such important categories as expected reliability, efficiency and purchase price.<\/p>\n

The study looks at vehicles that are 5 and 10 years old. Chevrolet Trax<\/a> was the best 5-year-old used value, with an average price of $1,442 per 10,000 miles of expected remaining life expectancy. After 10 years, the Honda CR-V<\/a> was the best value, at $1,417 per 10,000 miles remaining. These are among the most reliable SUVs to operate. They are likely to have a lot of useful life left in them, which makes them desirable vehicles on the used market.<\/p>\n

  2. Buick Encore<\/a>: $1,492<\/li>\n
  3. Mitsubishi Outlander Sport<\/a>: $1,498<\/li>\n
  4. Honda CR-V<\/a>: $1,588<\/li>\n
  5. Jeep Renegade<\/a>: $1,716<\/li>\n
  6. Mitsubishi Outlander<\/a>: $1,763<\/li>\n
  7. Ford Edge<\/a>: $1,803<\/li>\n
  8. Mazda CX-5<\/a>: $1,815<\/li>\n
  9. Nissan Pathfinder<\/a>: $1,820<\/li>\n
  10. Nissan Rogue<\/a>: $1,822<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n

    Though there are mostly small SUVs listed here, the few three-row models, like the Buick Encore and Honda Pilot<\/a> lower on the list, deliver solid value for families. Falling out of the top 10 in 12th place but still earning a solid estimate of $1,886 per 10,000 miles is the Mazda CX-9<\/a>, a vehicle we’ve hailed as more fun to drive than most of its peers.<\/p>\n

    7. Mazda CX-5: $1,719<\/li>\n
    8. Acura MDX<\/a>: $1,876<\/li>\n
    9. Toyota 4Runner<\/a>: $1,908<\/li>\n
    10. Toyota RAV4<\/a>: $1,927<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n

      iSeeCars<\/em>\u2019 executive analyst Karl Brauer said that eight of the models in the overall 10-year used list lasted for more than 100,000 miles on average and noted that all models had a minimum 80,000-mile lifespan. The company looked at more than a million used vehicle sales and analyzed the odometers of more than 312 million used models to determine the vehicles that last the longest<\/a> and cost the least.<\/p>\n
