The recall covers certain vehicles from model year <a class=\"injectedLinkmain\" href=\"https:\/\/www.autoblog.com\/buy\/2022-Dodge-Durango\/\" data-ylk=\"elm:context_link;itc:0;pos:1;sec:donut-hole;cpos:2;\">2022 \u2014 Dodge Durangos<\/a> and Ram 2500-3500 heavy-duty <a class=\"injectedLinkmain\" href=\"https:\/\/www.autoblog.com\/truck\/\" data-ylk=\"elm:context_link;itc:0;pos:1;sec:donut-hole;cpos:3;\">trucks<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.nhtsa.gov\/recalls?nhtsaId=24V415000\" data-ylk=\"elm:context_link;itc:0;pos:1;sec:donut-hole;cpos:4;\">National Highway Traffic Safety Administration documents<\/a> say these trucks may experience a malfunction in their anti-lock <a class=\"injectedLinkmain\" href=\"https:\/\/www.autoblog.com\/tag\/brakes\/\" data-ylk=\"elm:context_link;itc:0;pos:1;sec:donut-hole;cpos:5;\">braking<\/a> control module \u2014 which in turn could cause a failure in stability control, a key safety feature. This could create the potential for a crash.<\/p>\n<p>A Stellantis spokesperson said the company conducted an investigation and discovered the problem after a \u201croutine review of customer feedback\u201d tipped it off. The company&#8217;s unaware of any related injuries or accidents.<\/p>\n<p>A total of 211,581 vehicles \u2014 produced between April 2021 and December 2022 \u2014 are expected to have this defect. The company has very specific numbers for the affected vehicles: 524 <a class=\"injectedLinkmain\" href=\"https:\/\/www.autoblog.com\/dodge\/ram+3500\/\" data-ylk=\"elm:context_link;itc:0;pos:1;sec:donut-hole;cpos:6;\">Ram 3500s<\/a>, 157,890 <a class=\"injectedLinkmain\" href=\"https:\/\/www.autoblog.com\/dodge\/ram+2500\/\" data-ylk=\"elm:context_link;itc:0;pos:1;sec:donut-hole;cpos:7;\">Ram 2500s<\/a> and 53,167 <a class=\"injectedLinkmain\" href=\"https:\/\/www.autoblog.com\/dodge\/durango\/\" data-ylk=\"elm:context_link;itc:0;pos:1;sec:donut-hole;cpos:8;\">Dodge Durangos<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>In addition, 17,462 vehicles in Canada, 2,313 in Mexico and another 5,023 in markets outside North America will be recalled.<\/p>\n<p>Dealers will update the anti-lock braking control module software. Like all recalls, the <a class=\"injectedLinkmain\" href=\"https:\/\/www.autoblog.com\/auto-repair\/\" data-ylk=\"elm:context_link;itc:0;pos:1;sec:donut-hole;cpos:9;\">repair<\/a> will be done for free. Dealers and owners can expect to get notification letters in late July.
