Today&#8217;s <a href=\"https:\/\/www.murileemartin.com\/JunkyardGalleryHome.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\" data-ylk=\"elm:context_link;itc:0;pos:1;sec:donut-hole;cpos:5;\">Junkyard Gem<\/a> is a second-model-year <a href=\"https:\/\/www.globalsuzuki.com\/globalnews\/2006\/0228b.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\" data-ylk=\"elm:context_link;itc:0;pos:1;sec:donut-hole;cpos:6;\">SX4 Crossover<\/a>, found in <a href=\"https:\/\/www.autoweek.com\/car-life\/a32046918\/1899-camera-captures-6-junkyard-views-of-pikes-peak\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\" data-ylk=\"elm:context_link;itc:0;pos:1;sec:donut-hole;cpos:7;\">a Colorado Springs car graveyard<\/a> recently.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"grp-full\" src=\"https:\/\/edgecast-img.yahoo.net\/mysterio\/api\/9A9EED79DF3B61593D285B547E7D49F65965F3F9B0F88F7BE1BC4AB114519213\/autoblog\/resizefill_w1200_h675;quality_80;format_webp;cc_31536000;\/https:\/\/s.aolcdn.com\/images\/dims3\/GLOB\/legacy_thumbnail\/1200x675\/format\/jpg\/quality\/85\/https:\/\/s.aolcdn.com\/os\/ab\/_cms\/2024\/06\/01123441\/18-2008-Suzuki-SX4-in-Colorado-junkyard-photo-by-Murilee-Martin.jpg\" alt=\"\" loading=\"lazy\" height=\"675\" width=\"1200\"\/><\/p>\n<p>Suzuki <a href=\"https:\/\/www.rideapart.com\/news\/254886\/50-years-later-a-look-back-at-suzukis-first-bikes-for-america\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\" data-ylk=\"elm:context_link;itc:0;pos:1;sec:donut-hole;cpos:8;\">began selling motorcycles in the United States in 1963<\/a> (no, the <a href=\"https:\/\/suzukimusic-global.com\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\" data-ylk=\"elm:context_link;itc:0;pos:1;sec:donut-hole;cpos:9;\">Suzuki Musical Instrument Manufacturing Company<\/a> was never affiliated with <a href=\"https:\/\/www.suzuki.co.jp\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\" data-ylk=\"elm:context_link;itc:0;pos:1;sec:donut-hole;cpos:10;\">the Suzuki Motor Company<\/a>, Suzuki being <a href=\"https:\/\/www.baseball-reference.com\/players\/s\/suzukic01.shtml\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\" data-ylk=\"elm:context_link;itc:0;pos:1;sec:donut-hole;cpos:11;\">a very common Japanese family name<\/a>), but we didn&#8217;t get highway-legal Suzuki-built four-wheeled vehicles here until <a href=\"https:\/\/www.autoblog.com\/2020\/05\/21\/junkyard-gem-1985-chevrolet-sprint\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\" data-ylk=\"elm:context_link;itc:0;pos:1;sec:donut-hole;cpos:12;\">the Chevrolet Sprint<\/a> showed up as a 1985 model, followed the next year by <a href=\"https:\/\/www.thetruthaboutcars.com\/cars\/down-on-the-junkyard\/junkyard-find-1988-suzuki-samurai-44496830\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\" data-ylk=\"elm:context_link;itc:0;pos:1;sec:donut-hole;cpos:13;\">the Suzuki Samurai<\/a>. It was available in &#8220;tall hatchback&#8221; crossover and\u2014 a year later\u2014 sedan form, both styled by Giorgetto Giugiaro and based on <a href=\"https:\/\/www.globalsuzuki.com\/globalnews\/2003\/0410.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\" data-ylk=\"elm:context_link;itc:0;pos:1;sec:donut-hole;cpos:26;\">a platform developed in partnership with Fiat<\/a>. The SX4 name stands for <a href=\"https:\/\/www.globalsuzuki.com\/globalnews\/2006\/0228b.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\" data-ylk=\"elm:context_link;itc:0;pos:1;sec:donut-hole;cpos:27;\"><strong>S<\/strong>port <strong>X<\/strong>-over for <strong>4<\/strong> Seasons<\/a>, which isn&#8217;t quite as tortured an acronym as, say, the ones other Japanese carmakers assigned to hardware such as the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/watch?v=DJQmB4uKRq4\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\" data-ylk=\"elm:context_link;itc:0;pos:1;sec:donut-hole;cpos:28;\"><strong>P<\/strong>owerful &amp; Economic <strong>L<\/strong>ightweight <strong>A<\/strong>ccurate <strong>S<\/strong>ilent <strong>M<\/strong>ighty <strong>A<\/strong>dvanced<\/a> or the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.toyota-global.com\/company\/history_of_toyota\/75years\/text\/entering_the_automotive_business\/chapter2\/section4\/item6.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\" data-ylk=\"elm:context_link;itc:0;pos:1;sec:donut-hole;cpos:29;\"><strong>L<\/strong>ightweight <strong>A<\/strong>dvanced <strong>S<\/strong>uper <strong>R<\/strong>esponse <strong>E<\/strong>ngine<\/a>. The company gave up on selling cars and trucks here for 2013, after which the only new highway-legal Suzukis available here had <a href=\"https:\/\/suzukicycles.com\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\" data-ylk=\"elm:context_link;itc:0;pos:1;sec:donut-hole;cpos:33;\">two wheels apiece<\/a>.
