{"id":73391,"date":"2024-06-16T09:03:28","date_gmt":"2024-06-16T13:03:28","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/autosector.com\/?p=73391"},"modified":"2024-06-16T09:03:28","modified_gmt":"2024-06-16T13:03:28","slug":"used-car-prices-iseecars","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"http:\/\/autosector.com\/?p=73391","title":{"rendered":"Report: Most of the used vehicles with the largest price drops are electric models &#8211; Autoblog"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Used vehicle pricing has been all over the map for the last few years, but EVs are leading the charge in the trend of declining prices. <a href=\"https:\/\/www.iseecars.com\/used-car-prices-study\" data-ylk=\"elm:context_link;itc:0;pos:1;sec:donut-hole;cpos:0;\"><em>iSeeCars\u2019<\/em><\/a> recent study found that several electric models are at the forefront of a pleasing trend of used vehicle price reductions.<\/p>\n<p><em>iSeeCars<\/em> ranked the vehicles with the largest <a href=\"https:\/\/www.autoblog.com\/photos\/electric-cars-ranked-by-resale-value\/\" data-ylk=\"elm:context_link;itc:0;pos:1;sec:donut-hole;cpos:1;\">year-over-year price drops<\/a> as of May 2024, finding that the <a class=\"injectedLinkmain\" href=\"https:\/\/www.autoblog.com\/jaguar\/\" data-ylk=\"elm:context_link;itc:0;pos:1;sec:donut-hole;cpos:2;\">Jaguar<\/a> I-Pace fell the most, at a 30.1 percent drop. The remaining top 10 cars with the largest price drop on the used market include:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Jaguar I-Pace: 30.1% drop between May 2023 and 2024<\/li>\n<li><a class=\"injectedLinkmain\" href=\"https:\/\/www.autoblog.com\/chevrolet\/bolt+ev\/\" data-ylk=\"elm:context_link;itc:0;pos:1;sec:donut-hole;cpos:3;\">Chevrolet Bolt EV<\/a>: 28%<\/li>\n<li><a class=\"injectedLinkmain\" href=\"https:\/\/www.autoblog.com\/hyundai\/kona\/\" data-ylk=\"elm:context_link;itc:0;pos:1;sec:donut-hole;cpos:4;\">Hyundai Kona<\/a> EV: 26.5%<\/li>\n<li><a class=\"injectedLinkmain\" href=\"https:\/\/www.autoblog.com\/kia\/niro+ev\/\" data-ylk=\"elm:context_link;itc:0;pos:1;sec:donut-hole;cpos:5;\">Kia Niro EV<\/a>: 24.8%<\/li>\n<li><a class=\"injectedLinkmain\" href=\"https:\/\/www.autoblog.com\/nissan\/leaf\/\" data-ylk=\"elm:context_link;itc:0;pos:1;sec:donut-hole;cpos:6;\">Nissan Leaf<\/a>: 24%<\/li>\n<li><a class=\"injectedLinkmain\" href=\"https:\/\/www.autoblog.com\/tesla\/model+3\/\" data-ylk=\"elm:context_link;itc:0;pos:1;sec:donut-hole;cpos:7;\">Tesla Model 3<\/a>: 23.9%<\/li>\n<li><a class=\"injectedLinkmain\" href=\"https:\/\/www.autoblog.com\/tesla\/model+x\/\" data-ylk=\"elm:context_link;itc:0;pos:1;sec:donut-hole;cpos:8;\">Tesla Model X<\/a>: 18.8%<\/li>\n<li>Jaguar E-Pace: 16.9%<\/li>\n<li><a class=\"injectedLinkmain\" href=\"https:\/\/www.autoblog.com\/tesla\/model+s\/\" data-ylk=\"elm:context_link;itc:0;pos:1;sec:donut-hole;cpos:9;\">Tesla Model S<\/a>: 15.8%<\/li>\n<li><a class=\"injectedLinkmain\" href=\"https:\/\/www.autoblog.com\/maserati\/levante\/\" data-ylk=\"elm:context_link;itc:0;pos:1;sec:donut-hole;cpos:10;\">Maserati Levante<\/a>: 15.5%<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Seven of the 10 vehicles with the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.autoblog.com\/article\/used-car-prices-are-dropping-with-evs-leading-the-way-according-to-iseecars-data\/\" data-ylk=\"elm:context_link;itc:0;pos:1;sec:donut-hole;cpos:11;\">largest price drops<\/a> between May 2023 and 2024 were electric, while all of the models with the most significant price gains were gas. The <a class=\"injectedLinkmain\" href=\"https:\/\/www.autoblog.com\/porsche\/718+cayman\/\" data-ylk=\"elm:context_link;itc:0;pos:1;sec:donut-hole;cpos:12;\">Porsche 718 Cayman<\/a> and <a class=\"injectedLinkmain\" href=\"https:\/\/www.autoblog.com\/genesis\/g90\/\" data-ylk=\"elm:context_link;itc:0;pos:1;sec:donut-hole;cpos:13;\">Genesis G90<\/a> gained the most, at 30.4% and 17.3%, respectively. The <a class=\"injectedLinkmain\" href=\"https:\/\/www.autoblog.com\/porsche\/718+boxster\/\" data-ylk=\"elm:context_link;itc:0;pos:1;sec:donut-hole;cpos:14;\">Porsche 718 Boxster<\/a> and <a class=\"injectedLinkmain\" href=\"https:\/\/www.autoblog.com\/bmw\/\" data-ylk=\"elm:context_link;itc:0;pos:1;sec:donut-hole;cpos:15;\">BMW<\/a> 5 Series hybrid weren\u2019t too far behind.<\/p>\n<p>Part of the used <a href=\"https:\/\/www.autoblog.com\/2024\/04\/24\/report-heres-how-far-used-tesla-prices-have-fallen-in-the-past-year\/\" data-ylk=\"elm:context_link;itc:0;pos:1;sec:donut-hole;cpos:16;\">EV price drop<\/a> can be attributed to buyers\u2019 skepticism. <em>iSeeCars\u2019<\/em> executive analyst Karl Brauer said, \u201cWith so many EVs entering the <a class=\"injectedLinkmain\" href=\"https:\/\/www.autoblog.com\/research\/\" data-ylk=\"elm:context_link;itc:0;pos:1;sec:donut-hole;cpos:17;\">new car<\/a> market in recent years, and then flowing into the used market, it suggests an over-supply condition that will continue as more EVs come off <a class=\"injectedLinkmain\" href=\"https:\/\/www.autoblog.com\/tag\/leasing\/\" data-ylk=\"elm:context_link;itc:0;pos:1;sec:donut-hole;cpos:18;\">lease<\/a>. Without a major catalyst to increase EV demand, used prices for these models will likely keep falling.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Used EVs saw far more aggressive price drops than gas models overall during that period. The iSeeCars study covered 2.2 million one- to five-year-old used models and found that used EVs dropped 29.5 percent year-over-year, compared to just 6.1 percent for gas vehicles. That decline is the first time that average used EV prices fell below gas models, indicating that now could be an excellent time to start <a href=\"https:\/\/www.autoblog.com\/2024\/01\/16\/hertzs-tesla-liquidation-sale-likely-means-more-depreciation-for-used-evs\/\"
