{"id":73570,"date":"2024-06-22T09:03:22","date_gmt":"2024-06-22T13:03:22","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/autosector.com\/?p=73570"},"modified":"2024-06-22T09:03:22","modified_gmt":"2024-06-22T13:03:22","slug":"1143597_electric-ferrari-price-over-500000","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"http:\/\/autosector.com\/?p=73570","title":{"rendered":"Ferrari plots first EV\u2014for $500,000 or more"},"content":{"rendered":"<ul>\n<li><strong>Ferrari&#8217;s first EV due in late 2025<\/strong><\/li>\n<li><strong>Production to take place at new \u201ce-building\u201d plant<\/strong><\/li>\n<li><strong>May not be a traditional supercar<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>It was only a decade ago that <a href=\"https:\/\/www.greencarreports.com\/news\/1064907_ferrari-boss-no-electric-prancing-horses-but-hybrids-are-ok\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><strong>Ferrari<\/strong> was vehemently against<\/a> launching an <strong>electric car<\/strong>, but the automaker known for its loud gas engines has been working on one for several years and plans to reveal it in late 2025.<\/p>\n<p>It is expected be priced at the high end of Ferrari&#8217;s pricing spectrum, with a source revealing to <a href=\"https:\/\/www.reuters.com\/business\/autos-transportation\/ferraris-first-electric-car-cost-over-500000-source-says-2024-06-19\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Reuters<\/a> that the <strong>starting price<\/strong> will be 500,000 euros (approximately $535,000).<\/p>\n<p><span id=\"static-marker-video-player-primis\"\/><\/p>\n<p>That will make it more expensive than the SF90 Stradale supercar and Purosangue SUV<strong>,<\/strong> which are Ferrari&#8217;s priciest non-limited-production models. It will also make it considerably more expensive than the average transaction price for a Ferrari, which according to Reuters was about 350,000 euros in the first quarter of 2024, including options.<\/p>\n<p>If accurate, it means Ferrari won&#8217;t rely on sharp pricing to entice buyers to give up the emotional sound of its gas engines. According to Reuters&#8217; source, Ferrari has a second electric car already in development, albeit still at an early stage.<\/p>\n<p>Ferrari will build its electric cars at a new plant referred to as the \u201ce-building\u201d by <strong>CEO Benedetto Vigna<\/strong>. Located adjacent to the current plant at the automaker&#8217;s Maranello headquarters, the new plant is expected to come online this week, initially to build some gas models in addition to electric motors, inverters, and batteries for plug-in hybrid powertrains.
