Adding in depreciation could result in significant changes to some of the cars on this list.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>And while these are the cheapest, MarketWatch also looked at the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.autoblog.com\/article\/the-10-most-expensive-evs-and-phevs-to-operate-for-5-years\/\/\" data-ylk=\"elm:context_link;itc:0;pos:1;sec:donut-hole;cpos:17;\">other end of the spectrum<\/a>. The most expensive EV to run was the <a class=\"injectedLinkmain\" href=\"https:\/\/www.autoblog.com\/porsche\/taycan\/\" data-ylk=\"elm:context_link;itc:0;pos:1;sec:donut-hole;cpos:18;\">Porsche Taycan<\/a>, which cost $53,065 over five years, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.autoblog.com\/article\/cheapest-electric-cars\/\" data-ylk=\"elm:context_link;itc:0;pos:1;sec:donut-hole;cpos:19;\">almost three times the cost<\/a> of the Nissan Leaf.
