Now it appears <strong>BMW<\/strong> is working on something similar.<\/p>\n<p>In an interview with <a href=\"https:\/\/www.bmwblog.com\/2024\/06\/22\/bmw-m-working-simulated-gear-shifts-electric-cars\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Top Gear<\/a> (via <a href=\"https:\/\/www.bmwblog.com\/2024\/06\/22\/bmw-m-working-simulated-gear-shifts-electric-cars\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">BMW Blog<\/a>), Frank van Meel, the boss of <strong>BMW&#8217;s M performance division<\/strong>, said he liked Hyundai&#8217;s approach, adding that BMW is also working on simulated gearshifts. That&#8217;s also something Hyundai has done <a href=\"https:\/\/www.motorauthority.com\/news\/1142881_2025-hyundai-ioniq-5-n-test-drive-review\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">with the Ioniq 5 N<\/a>, which replicates the snaps, crackles, and pops of the gasoline Elantra N.
