{"id":73926,"date":"2024-07-03T12:03:16","date_gmt":"2024-07-03T16:03:16","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/autosector.com\/?p=73926"},"modified":"2024-07-03T12:03:16","modified_gmt":"2024-07-03T16:03:16","slug":"fisker-seeks-judges-approval-to-sell-ocean-evs-at-14000-per-suv","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"http:\/\/autosector.com\/?p=73926","title":{"rendered":"Fisker seeks judge&#8217;s approval to sell Ocean EVs at $14,000 per SUV &#8211; Autoblog"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><a class=\"injectedLinkmain\" href=\"https:\/\/www.autoblog.com\/fisker\/\" data-ylk=\"elm:context_link;itc:0;pos:1;sec:donut-hole;cpos:0;\">Fisker<\/a> has asked a bankruptcy judge overseeing its Chapter 11 proceedings to approve the sale of more than 3,000 <a class=\"injectedLinkmain\" href=\"https:\/\/www.autoblog.com\/fisker\/ocean\/\" data-ylk=\"elm:context_link;itc:0;pos:1;sec:donut-hole;cpos:1;\">Ocean<\/a> electric SUVs in its inventory for about $14,000 per car to a vehicle-leasing company.<\/p>\n<p>Following the judge&#8217;s nod, Fisker will be able to offload 3,321 <a class=\"injectedLinkmain\" href=\"https:\/\/www.autoblog.com\/electric\/\" data-ylk=\"elm:context_link;itc:0;pos:1;sec:donut-hole;cpos:2;\">electric vehicles<\/a> to New York-based American Lease for $46.25 million, according to a court filing on Tuesday.<\/p>\n<p>The EV startup, which filed for bankruptcy protection last month, faced logistics issues while selling its Ocean electric SUVs and pivoted to a dealer-partner model earlier this year after burning through a large amount of cash.<\/p>\n<p>Some variants of its Ocean SUV were priced at around $70,000 and through its descent into bankruptcy, it cut prices of the cheapest variant to about $25,000 to raise capital to meet debt obligations.<\/p>\n<p>On May 30, two weeks before Fisker filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy protection, American Lease agreed to buy 2,100 Ocean EVs and a month later increased that offer to buy all 3,321 Oceans that were ready for sale.<\/p>\n<p>American Lease serves ride share drivers in and around New York City, providing a fleet of cars on <a class=\"injectedLinkmain\" href=\"https:\/\/www.autoblog.com\/tag\/leasing\/\" data-ylk=\"elm:context_link;itc:0;pos:1;sec:donut-hole;cpos:3;\">lease<\/a> or rent.
