Once it comes online, Waterkant will generate clean electricity for around 400,000 households. <\/p>\n<p>Luxcara launched an international tender in late 2023, and it <a href=\"https:\/\/luxcara.com\/luxcara-picks-worlds-most-powerful-turbine-for-german-offshore-wind-project-waterkant\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">stated<\/a> in its selection announcement that the decision for Mingyang\u2019s turbines was based on \u201can extensive due diligence exercise, covering the supply chain, ESG compliance aligned with the EU taxonomy, and cybersecurity supported by independent experts from renowned international advisers.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>But a spokesperson for Germany\u2019s economy ministry told <a href=\"https:\/\/www.reuters.com\/markets\/deals\/european-wind-turbine-industry-criticises-german-deal-with-chinese-supplier-2024-07-03\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Reuters<\/a> that it\u2019s going to look closer at the security and competition aspects of this German offshore wind farm using Chinese turbines: <\/p>\n<blockquote class=\"wp-block-quote is-layout-flow wp-block-quote-is-layout-flow\" readability=\"9\">\n<p>The federal government will look at this decision very closely. On the one hand, in relation to the question of critical infrastructure.
