It&#8217;s not too much yet, but there&#8217;s a lot of Mini going on. Here&#8217;s the latest, the camouflaged <a class=\"injectedLinkmain\" href=\"https:\/\/www.autoblog.com\/mini\/\" data-ylk=\"elm:context_link;itc:0;pos:1;sec:donut-hole;cpos:0;\">Mini Cooper<\/a> JCW E Prototype that will make its public debut at the <a class=\"injectedLinkmain\" href=\"https:\/\/www.autoblog.com\/tag\/goodwood\/\" data-ylk=\"elm:context_link;itc:0;pos:1;sec:donut-hole;cpos:1;\">Goodwood Festival of Speed<\/a> for a run up the hill, introduced to us six weeks after Mini showed us a camouflaged <a href=\"https:\/\/www.autoblog.com\/2024\/05\/20\/mini-john-cooper-works-gas-power-preview\/\" data-ylk=\"elm:context_link;itc:0;pos:1;sec:donut-hole;cpos:2;\">internal-combustion Cooper JCW<\/a>. And, if you&#8217;ll remember, Mini showed an electric version of the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.autoblog.com\/2023\/12\/07\/2025-mini-cooper-se-john-cooper-works\/\" data-ylk=\"elm:context_link;itc:0;pos:1;sec:donut-hole;cpos:3;\">new Cooper SE JCW<\/a> last December. This JCW is going to rock more juice down electric avenue, though, the automaker saying there&#8217;s an &#8220;advanced electric powertrain &#8230; with cutting-edge technology&#8221; hiding under the skin.<\/p>\n<p>The expectation is that the JCW E will use the same 54.2-kWh <a class=\"injectedLinkmain\" href=\"https:\/\/www.autoblog.com\/tag\/battery\/\" data-ylk=\"elm:context_link;itc:0;pos:1;sec:donut-hole;cpos:4;\">battery<\/a> as in other Minis, but its front-mounted motor will make more than the 215 horsepower and 253 pound-feet of torque applied to the Cooper SE and Cooper SE JCW. Brand execs <a href=\"https:\/\/www.autocar.co.uk\/car-news\/new-cars\/mini-jcw-e-electric-hot-hatch-be-shown-goodwood\" data-ylk=\"elm:context_link;itc:0;pos:1;sec:donut-hole;cpos:5;\">told <em>Autocar<\/em><\/a> that engineers worked to maintain a &#8220;go-kart feeling,&#8221; imparting similar sensations to the gas-powered JCW, the electric version&#8217;s greater weight getting necessitating larger wheels and wider tires to improve grip. A stiffer suspension and larger <a class=\"injectedLinkmain\" href=\"https:\/\/www.autoblog.com\/tag\/brakes\/\" data-ylk=\"elm:context_link;itc:0;pos:1;sec:donut-hole;cpos:6;\">brakes<\/a> should also be involved. And although the new architecture can support a dual-motor powertrain, there seems little chance of that happening.\u00a0 \u00a0\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Same as the gas-powered Mini, the red and white camo is an homage to the red and white <a class=\"injectedLinkmain\" href=\"https:\/\/www.autoblog.com\/tag\/colors\/\" data-ylk=\"elm:context_link;itc:0;pos:1;sec:donut-hole;cpos:7;\">color<\/a> schemes used in the 1960s for Minis in\u00a0<a class=\"injectedLinkmain\" href=\"https:\/\/www.autoblog.com\/motorsports\/\" data-ylk=\"elm:context_link;itc:0;pos:1;sec:donut-hole;cpos:8;\">motorsports<\/a>. The &#8220;37&#8221; logo commemorates the #37 Mini Cooper winning the 1964 Rallye <a class=\"injectedLinkmain\" href=\"https:\/\/www.autoblog.com\/chevrolet\/monte+carlo\/\" data-ylk=\"elm:context_link;itc:0;pos:1;sec:donut-hole;cpos:9;\">Monte Carlo<\/a>. Across the windshield, &#8220;Bulldog Racing&#8221; touts the team that won its class in this year&#8217;s N\u00fcrburgring 24-Hour race with a new camo&#8217;ed Mini.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>After the Mini JCW E&#8217;s Prototype&#8217;s run up the hill next weekend, the automaker says the global reveal comes in autumn this year.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Mini has been revealing or teasing or launching variants of its all-new lineup since last September.
