With rivals launching new electric models this year, <a href=\"https:\/\/electrek.co\/guides\/hyundai\/\">Hyundai<\/a> expects stronger competition in the second half of the year.<\/p>\n<p><span id=\"more-370770\"\/><\/p>\n<p>After setting a new <a href=\"https:\/\/electrek.co\/2024\/07\/02\/hyundai-ioniq-5-new-q2-sales-record-hot-streak\/\">EV sales record in Q2<\/a>, Hyundai feels \u201cpretty bullish about the second half,\u201d according to Hyundai\u2019s US CEO Randy Parker.<\/p>\n<p>Parker told <em><a href=\"https:\/\/www.autonews.com\/sales\/us-ev-competion-surge-second-half-hyundai-exec-says\">Automotive News<\/a><\/em> that Hyundai has found its \u201csweet spot\u201d with EV sales gaining momentum. Hyundai\u2019s EV sales were up 15% year-over-year in the second quarter.<\/p>\n<p>Hyundai\u2019s dedicated IONIQ 5 and IONIQ 6 EVs set new sales records in Q2. Starting at $43,295, the Chevy Equinox EV 2LT FWD is in the same price range as the IONIQ 5 ($43,175). Meanwhile, GM says a lower-priced ($35,000) trim will be available later this year.<\/p>\n<p>After deliveries kicked off in May, GM <a href=\"https:\/\/electrek.co\/2024\/07\/02\/gm-tops-q2-first-half-ev-sales-records-new-chevy-evs-arrive\/\">delivered 1,013 Equinox EVs<\/a> in Q2.
