J.D. Power\u2019s <a href=\"https:\/\/www.jdpower.com\/business\/us-manufacturer-website-evaluation-study-mwes\" data-ylk=\"elm:context_link;itc:0;pos:1;sec:donut-hole;cpos:0;\">2024 U.S. Manufacturer Evaluation Study<\/a> polled car buyers and website users on their experience based on four factors: information\/content, visual appeal, navigation, and speed.<\/p>\n<p>The study ranked <a class=\"injectedLinkmain\" href=\"https:\/\/www.autoblog.com\/mercedes_benz\/\" data-ylk=\"elm:context_link;itc:0;pos:1;sec:donut-hole;cpos:1;\">Mercedes-Benz<\/a> as the top premium brand, giving it a score of 757 out of 1,000. <a class=\"injectedLinkmain\" href=\"https:\/\/www.autoblog.com\/lexus\/\" data-ylk=\"elm:context_link;itc:0;pos:1;sec:donut-hole;cpos:2;\">Lexus<\/a> earned a 756 for second place, with <a class=\"injectedLinkmain\" href=\"https:\/\/www.autoblog.com\/bmw\/\" data-ylk=\"elm:context_link;itc:0;pos:1;sec:donut-hole;cpos:3;\">BMW<\/a> and <a class=\"injectedLinkmain\" href=\"https:\/\/www.autoblog.com\/infiniti\/\" data-ylk=\"elm:context_link;itc:0;pos:1;sec:donut-hole;cpos:4;\">Infiniti<\/a> tying for third at 751. The luxury segment average was 739. The worst mass-market brands were <a class=\"injectedLinkmain\" href=\"https:\/\/www.autoblog.com\/ford\/\" data-ylk=\"elm:context_link;itc:0;pos:1;sec:donut-hole;cpos:11;\">Ford<\/a>, Mini, and <a class=\"injectedLinkmain\" href=\"https:\/\/www.autoblog.com\/mitsubishi\/\" data-ylk=\"elm:context_link;itc:0;pos:1;sec:donut-hole;cpos:12;\">Mitsubishi<\/a>, scoring 701, 700, and 685. While J.D. Power only asked <a href=\"https:\/\/www.autoblog.com\/article\/how-to-buy-a-car-online\/\" data-ylk=\"elm:context_link;itc:0;pos:1;sec:donut-hole;cpos:13;\">potential car buyers<\/a> about their opinions on the websites, it\u2019s impossible to tell whether those people also let their personal feelings about a brand impact their scoring decisions.<\/p>\n<p>It&#8217;s good to remember that we\u2019re talking about automaker websites here, not <a class=\"injectedLinkmain\" href=\"https:\/\/www.autoblog.com\/car-dealers\/\" data-ylk=\"elm:context_link;itc:0;pos:1;sec:donut-hole;cpos:14;\">dealers<\/a>. While franchise dealers have an approved list of website providers and <a href=\"https:\/\/www.autoblog.com\/2024\/07\/01\/cdk-expects-all-dealers-to-be-live-by-early-july-4\/\" data-ylk=\"elm:context_link;itc:0;pos:1;sec:donut-hole;cpos:15;\">dealer management systems companies<\/a>, automakers control their web presence, and ultimately, the user experience.
