{"id":74846,"date":"2024-07-26T00:04:05","date_gmt":"2024-07-26T04:04:05","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/autosector.com\/?p=74846"},"modified":"2024-07-26T00:04:05","modified_gmt":"2024-07-26T04:04:05","slug":"1143925_2026-kia-pv5-electric-van-spy-shots","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"http:\/\/autosector.com\/?p=74846","title":{"rendered":"2026 Kia PV5 electric van spied"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Kia plans to have <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.motorauthority.com\/news\/1135217_kia-to-have-14-evs-by-2027-including-electric-pickups\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">14 electric vehicles<\/a><\/strong> in its lineup as soon as 2027, and some of these will be purpose-built vehicles designed to meet a customer&#8217;s specific needs, such as delivery vans or shuttles.<\/p>\n<p>Kia previewed some of its upcoming purpose-built vehicles with <a href=\"https:\/\/www.greencarreports.com\/news\/1141957_kia-pbv-concepts-preview-flexible-electric-vans-and-a-robotaxi\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">concepts during 2024 CES<\/a>, albeit without any powertrain details.<\/p>\n<p><span id=\"static-marker-video-player-primis\"\/><\/p>\n<p>Now a camouflaged prototype for a production model has been spotted. It&#8217;s a <strong>midsize van<\/strong> that&#8217;s likely to carry the <strong>PV5<\/strong> name into production. The name was attached to the concept that served as a preview of the van at CES.<\/p>\n<p>The concept measured close to 183 inches long and had a wheelbase of almost 118 inches, and the production model looks to be about that size. Kia has also shown a configuration that could be used as a <strong>robotaxi<\/strong>, something Kia plans to use itself.<\/p>\n<p>Kia also plans to offer the PV5 as a <strong>chassis cab<\/strong>, which will enable owners to build the vehicle to fully suit their needs, a practice known as upfitting.<\/p>\n<p>The PV5 is expected to debut in 2025 as the first of Kia&#8217;s new purpose-built vehicles.<\/p>\n<p>Kia will also launch a purpose-built vehicle designed for taxi services using its <a href=\"https:\/\/www.motorauthority.com\/news\/1134176_2023-kia-niro-price-specs-review-photos-info\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Niro compact crossover<\/a> as the basis.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Kia plans to have 14 electric vehicles in its lineup as soon as 2027, and some of these will be purpose-built vehicles designed to meet a customer&#8217;s specific needs, such as delivery vans or shuttles.
