{"id":74987,"date":"2024-07-30T00:03:21","date_gmt":"2024-07-30T04:03:21","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/autosector.com\/?p=74987"},"modified":"2024-07-30T00:03:21","modified_gmt":"2024-07-30T04:03:21","slug":"2024-ford-f-150-order-books-close-this-friday","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"http:\/\/autosector.com\/?p=74987","title":{"rendered":"2024 Ford F-150 order books close this Friday &#8211; Autoblog"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>The <a href=\"https:\/\/www.autoblog.com\/2023\/09\/12\/2024-ford-f-150-revealed-at-detroit-auto-show\/\" data-ylk=\"elm:context_link;itc:0;pos:1;sec:donut-hole;cpos:0;\">2024 Ford F-150<\/a> caught the same <a href=\"https:\/\/www.autoblog.com\/2024\/07\/23\/2024-ford-ranger-raptor-order-books-close-july-31\/\" data-ylk=\"elm:context_link;itc:0;pos:1;sec:donut-hole;cpos:1;\">bug afflicting the 2024 Ford Ranger Raptor<\/a>, except this time, the bug has spread throughout the entire <a class=\"injectedLinkmain\" href=\"https:\/\/www.autoblog.com\/ford\/f_150\/\" data-ylk=\"elm:context_link;itc:0;pos:1;sec:donut-hole;cpos:2;\">F-150<\/a> lineup. <a href=\"https:\/\/www.carsdirect.com\/automotive-news\/industry-news\/2024-ford-f-150-custom-orders-ending-early\" data-ylk=\"elm:context_link;itc:0;pos:1;sec:donut-hole;cpos:3;\"><em>Cars Direct<\/em> saw<\/a> one of the automaker&#8217;s recent <a class=\"injectedLinkmain\" href=\"https:\/\/www.autoblog.com\/car-dealers\/\" data-ylk=\"elm:context_link;itc:0;pos:1;sec:donut-hole;cpos:4;\">dealer<\/a> bulletins saying, in part, &#8220;We are announcing the decision to turn off the ability to submit new retail orders for 24MY F-150 on August 2nd, 2024. This impacts F-150 gas and <a class=\"injectedLinkmain\" href=\"https:\/\/www.autoblog.com\/hybrid\/\" data-ylk=\"elm:context_link;itc:0;pos:1;sec:donut-hole;cpos:5;\">hybrid<\/a> only.&#8221; That means the 2024 <a class=\"injectedLinkmain\" href=\"https:\/\/www.autoblog.com\/ford\/f_150+lightning\/\" data-ylk=\"elm:context_link;itc:0;pos:1;sec:donut-hole;cpos:6;\">F-150 Lightning<\/a> hasn&#8217;t been sent to the shadow realm yet. Otherwise, buyers hoping to get an F-150 with their chosen <a class=\"injectedLinkmain\" href=\"https:\/\/www.autoblog.com\/tag\/colors\/\" data-ylk=\"elm:context_link;itc:0;pos:1;sec:donut-hole;cpos:7;\">colors<\/a> and options have until Friday evening at 10 p.m. EST to get an order in.<\/p>\n<p>Yet again, as with the Raptor <a class=\"injectedLinkmain\" href=\"https:\/\/www.autoblog.com\/ford\/ranger\/\" data-ylk=\"elm:context_link;itc:0;pos:1;sec:donut-hole;cpos:8;\">Ranger<\/a>, checking the forums shows any such order needs to be followed by patience about the delivery date. When we visited a thread at the\u00a0<em>Ranger6G<\/em>\u00a0forum\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.ranger6g.com\/forum\/threads\/order-tracker-status.8992\/\" data-ylk=\"elm:context_link;itc:0;pos:1;sec:donut-hole;cpos:9;\" data-rapid_p=\"22\" data-v9y=\"1\">called &#8220;Order Tracker Status,&#8221;<\/a>\u00a0we scrolled 57 pages of replies, many of them from posters either waiting on <a class=\"injectedLinkmain\" href=\"https:\/\/www.autoblog.com\/truck\/\" data-ylk=\"elm:context_link;itc:0;pos:1;sec:donut-hole;cpos:10;\">trucks<\/a> they ordered as far back as a year ago or posters who canceled orders and bought out of dealer inventory. A thread at the <em>F150Gen14<\/em> forum called <a href=\"https:\/\/www.f150gen14.com\/forum\/threads\/anybody-have-their-24-built-and-or-delivered-yet.22144\/\" data-ylk=\"elm:context_link;itc:0;pos:1;sec:donut-hole;cpos:11;\">&#8220;Anybody have their 24 built and\/or delivered yet?&#8221;<\/a> is up to 96 pages at the time of writing, and shares similar tales.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Part of the issue this time was a late production start, followed by a slow ramp-up as <a class=\"injectedLinkmain\" href=\"https:\/\/www.autoblog.com\/ford\/\" data-ylk=\"elm:context_link;itc:0;pos:1;sec:donut-hole;cpos:12;\">Ford<\/a> took care of issues before delivering trucks, followed by constraints on some components such as the head-up display. Ford&#8217;s closing 2024 order books in early August compares to order books for the 2023 pickup closing in the first week of September last year. Yet the refreshed 2024 F-150 didn&#8217;t start down lines until December 2023, more than three months later. Company CEO Jim Farley said Ford sidestepped roughly 12 problems that could have led to <a class=\"injectedLinkmain\" href=\"https:\/\/www.autoblog.com\/recalls\/\" data-ylk=\"elm:context_link;itc:0;pos:1;sec:donut-hole;cpos:13;\">recalls<\/a> by pushing back the start of deliveries. Currently, a document <a href=\"https:\/\/www.f150gen14.com\/forum\/threads\/2025my-f-150-order-banks-open-8-26-2024-f-150-scheduling-this-week-7-25-24-for-production-week-9-2.26215\/\" data-ylk=\"elm:context_link;itc:0;pos:1;sec:donut-hole;cpos:14;\">outlining the automaker&#8217;s production schedule<\/a> shows the HUD remains under constraint for trucks scheduled to be built the week of September 2, as does the turbocharged 2.7-liter EcoBoost engine that slid into the base slot on the 2024 pickup, the Tough Bed bedliner, and two wheel and tire options.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Ford&#8217;s still got the <a class=\"injectedLinkmain\" href=\"https:\/\/www.autoblog.com\/photos\/best-selling-cars\/\" data-ylk=\"elm:context_link;itc:0;pos:1;sec:donut-hole;cpos:15;\">best-selling vehicle<\/a> in the U.S. through the first six months, and with continuing indigestion on the balance sheet, the automaker will want to avoid the same delay with the 2025 F-150.
