{"id":75104,"date":"2024-08-01T09:03:35","date_gmt":"2024-08-01T13:03:35","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/autosector.com\/?p=75104"},"modified":"2024-08-01T09:03:35","modified_gmt":"2024-08-01T13:03:35","slug":"1143995_pininfarina-to-reveal-one-off-car-at-2024-monterey-car-week","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"http:\/\/autosector.com\/?p=75104","title":{"rendered":"Pininfarina to reveal one-off car at 2024 Monterey Car Week"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Pininfarina has plans to become a manufacturer of electric vehicles, but it hasn&#8217;t forgotten its design and coachbuilding roots.<\/p>\n<p>The Italian company will use <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.motorauthority.com\/news\/monterey-car-week\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">2024 Monterey Car Week<\/a><\/strong> on later this month to present the latest in a long line of coachbuilt specials that include standouts like the Ferrari Enzo-based P4\/5 by Pininfarina and Rolls-Royce Phantom Drophead Coupe-based Hyperion, and more recent <a href=\"https:\/\/www.motorauthority.com\/news\/1143196_morgan-midsummer-pininfarina-roadster-revealed\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Morgan Midsummer<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p><span id=\"static-marker-video-player-primis\"\/><\/p>\n<p>A single teaser photo for the new car was released on Thursday but reveals very little of the design.<\/p>\n<p>The car was commissioned by an owner of Pininfarina&#8217;s <a href=\"https:\/\/www.motorauthority.com\/news\/1137933_pininfarina-battista-0-60-mph-time\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Battista electric hypercar<\/a>, who is based in North America. It <strong>will be a true one-off<\/strong>, Pininfarina said, but the company hasn&#8217;t revealed what donor chassis will form the basis. A likely bet is the <strong>chassis of a Battista<\/strong>; Pininfarina sources the Battista&#8217;s chassis from Rimac, which originally developed it for its own Nevera electric hypercar.<\/p>\n<div class=\"image_wrapper first_wrapper\"><img fetchpriority=\"high\" decoding=\"async\" name=\"tccimg_100866017_m\" title=\"Pininfarina Battista\" src=\"data:image\/png;base64,R0lGODlhAQABAAD\/ACwAAAAAAQABAAACADs=\" alt=\"Pininfarina Battista\" width=\"640\" height=\"433\" class=\"first_image lazy\" data-width=\"1024\" data-height=\"692\" data-url=\"https:\/\/images.hgmsites.net\/lrg\/pininfarina-battista_100866017_l.jpg\" data-src-h=\"https:\/\/images.hgmsites.net\/hug\/pininfarina-battista_100866017_h.jpg\" data-src=\"https:\/\/images.hgmsites.net\/lrg\/pininfarina-battista_100866017_l.jpg\" data-src-l=\"https:\/\/images.hgmsites.net\/lrg\/pininfarina-battista_100866017_l.jpg\" data-src-m=\"https:\/\/images.hgmsites.net\/med\/pininfarina-battista_100866017_m.jpg\" data-src-s=\"https:\/\/images.hgmsites.net\/sml\/pininfarina-battista_100866017_s.jpg\"\/><\/p>\n<p>Pininfarina Battista<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<p>The chassis features a T-shaped battery with a capacity of 120 kwh, plus four independent electric motors delivering a <strong>combined 1,874 hp<\/strong> in the Battista. Owners can expect 0-60 mph times of less than two seconds and top speeds of more than 186 mph.<\/p>\n<p>Pininfarina has also launched a speedster based on the chassis. <a href=\"https:\/\/www.motorauthority.com\/news\/1140478_pininfarina-b95-revealed\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Known as the B95<\/a>, the car debuted at last year&#8217;s Monterey Car Week and is limited to just 10 examples worldwide.<\/p>\n<p>Pininfarina plans to i<strong>ntroduce higher-volume models<\/strong> in the future. The company in 2019 hinted at a lineup of five models including a sedan, coupe, and convertible, as well as an SUV, and the Battista hypercar. A potential design for the SUV was previewed last year in Monterey with the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.motorauthority.com\/news\/1124674_pininfarina-pura-vision-concept-previews-sultry-electric-suv\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Pura Vision concept<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>This year&#8217;s Monterey Car Week will run Aug. 9-18 in California.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Pininfarina has plans to become a manufacturer of electric vehicles, but it hasn&#8217;t forgotten its design and coachbuilding roots.
