Despite intensifying competition, NIO continues to see strong demand in the world\u2019s largest EV market.<\/p>\n<p><span id=\"more-374185\"\/><\/p>\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"h-nio-hits-the-20k-delivery-threshold-again-in-july-2024\">NIO hits the 20K delivery threshold again in July 2024<\/h2>\n<p>NIO <a href=\"https:\/\/www.globenewswire.com\/en\/news-release\/2024\/08\/01\/2922518\/0\/en\/NIO-Inc-Provides-July-2024-Delivery-Update.html\">delivered 20,498 vehicles<\/a> last month, its third straight month above the 20K mark. Of them, 11,964 were electric SUVs, and 8,534 were EV sedans.<\/p>\n<p>Although NIO\u2019s deliveries were up slightly YOY, they were down from the <a href=\"https:\/\/electrek.co\/2024\/07\/01\/nio-shatters-records-june-delivering-over-20000-evs-again\/\">record 21,209 units delivered <\/a>last month and 20,544 in May 2024. NIO has now delivered 107,924 EVs through the first seven months of 2024, up 44% compared to 2023.<\/p>\n<p>NIO\u2019s lineup includes five \u201cpremium smart\u201d electric SUVs: The EC6, EC7, ES6, ES7, and ES8. It also features three EV sedans: The ET5, ET5 Touring, and ET7.<\/p>\n<p>After NIO launched the new ET7 earlier this year, all models are now based on its NT 2.0 platform. NIO shares are down 52% in 2024 and 72% over the past 12 months.<\/p>\n<p>The news comes after China\u2019s leading EV maker, BYD, sold <a href=\"https:\/\/electrek.co\/2024\/08\/01\/byd-sold-record-342k-nevs-july-but-ev-sales-slipped\/\">a record 342K<\/a> new energy vehicles (NEVs) in July. However, BYD\u2019s EV sales slipped for the second straight month.<\/p>\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"h-electrek-s-take\">Electrek\u2019s Take<\/h2>\n<p>With the launch of its new mass-market Onvo brand, NIO looks to build momentum into the end of 2024 and early 2025.<\/p>\n<p>Deutsche Bank analyst Wang Bin\u2019s team said in a note to investors last month that \u201cWe think Nio\u2019s expectation of monthly &gt;20,000 unit delivery is achievable with a boost from Onvo.\u201d Meanwhile, the EV maker is already hitting the mark.<\/p>\n<p>The L60 is a mid-size electric SUV often compared to Tesla\u2019s best-selling Model Y.
