The electric sedan was confirmed during the automaker&#8217;s second-quarter earnings call.<\/p>\n<p><span id=\"static-marker-video-player-primis\"\/><\/p>\n<p>K\u00e4llenius said the electric C-Class will arrive alongside the <strong>electric GLC-Class SUV<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p>Both the electric C-Class and GLC-Class SUV will follow immediately after the upcoming <a href=\"https:\/\/www.greencarreports.com\/news\/1143984_mercedes-cla-ev-crossover-may-rival-tesla-model-y-in-2026\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">electric CLA-Class and CLA-based Crossover SUV<\/a>, the latter of which is expected to enter <strong>production in October 2025<\/strong>. The CLA-based Crossover SUV, which carries the internal codename of X174, is said to be aiming for the Tesla Model Y.<\/p>\n<p>The Mercedes electric lineup is going to be crowded quickly. The C-Class and GLC-Class EVs will aim upmarket with higher price points than the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.motorauthority.com\/news\/1138066_2025-mercedes-benz-cla-class-ev-spy-shots\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">CLA-Class<\/a> and CLA-based crossover.<\/p>\n<p>While the CLA models will ride on Mercedes&#8217; upcoming Mercedes-Benz Modular Architecture (MMA), the C-Class and GLC-Class EVs will ride on MB.EA. The <a href=\"https:\/\/www.motorauthority.com\/news\/1143184_mercedes-stops-work-on-mb-ea-ev-platform-for-large-cars\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">MB.EA EV platform<\/a> was supposed to spawn two versions, MB.EA Small and MB.EA Large. The latter was destined for the EQE and EQS successors along with their respective SUVs, but development of MB.EA Large has been stopped to curb spending amid an EV sales slowdown. Development of MB.EA Small continues.<\/p>\n<p>Prototypes of the Mercedes-Benz C-Class EV have already been <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.motorauthority.com\/news\/1141779_2026-mercedes-benz-c-class-ev-spy-shots\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">spotted testing<\/a><\/strong> on public roads in production form. The electric iteration of the C-Class will feature different styling than the gas-powered model that will focus on aerodynamics in the name of efficiency. Styling elements of the upcoming electric CLA-Class are expected, including lighting elements with the Mercedes star logo.<\/p>\n<p>Mercedes hasn&#8217;t detailed specifications for the electric C-Class, but expect a <strong>range of 300 miles<\/strong> or more.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>An electric iteration of Mercedes&#8217; compact sedan is just around the corner.
