Similar to Gordon Murray Automotive with the GMA T.50, Nilu27 will employ a <a href=\"https:\/\/www.autoblog.com\/2021\/07\/26\/gordon-murray-automotive-t50-supercar-v12-sound\/\" data-ylk=\"elm:context_link;itc:0;pos:1;sec:donut-hole;cpos:2;\">naturally-aspirated V12 engine<\/a> with no electrification or turbochargers.<\/p>\n<p>The Nilu <a class=\"injectedLinkmain\" href=\"https:\/\/www.autoblog.com\/tag\/hypercar\/\" data-ylk=\"elm:context_link;itc:0;pos:1;sec:donut-hole;cpos:3;\">hypercar<\/a>, named after the company, was inspired by <a href=\"https:\/\/www.autoblog.com\/article\/all-the-2024-formula-1-car-livery-designs\/\" data-ylk=\"elm:context_link;itc:0;pos:1;sec:donut-hole;cpos:4;\">Formula 1 racers<\/a> in the 1960s, <a class=\"injectedLinkmain\" href=\"https:\/\/www.autoblog.com\/tag\/le+mans\/\" data-ylk=\"elm:context_link;itc:0;pos:1;sec:donut-hole;cpos:5;\">Le Mans<\/a> cars, and vehicles from iconic Italian design houses. It uses a bespoke <a class=\"injectedLinkmain\" href=\"https:\/\/www.autoblog.com\/tag\/carbon+fiber\/\" data-ylk=\"elm:context_link;itc:0;pos:1;sec:donut-hole;cpos:6;\">carbon fiber<\/a> monocoque with lightweight aluminum subframes. The frames\u2019 tubular design helps dissipate heat and facilitate powertrain maintenance.<\/p>\n<p>A 6.5-liter 80-degree <a href=\"https:\/\/www.autoblog.com\/aston+martin\/v12+vantage\/\" data-ylk=\"elm:context_link;itc:0;pos:1;sec:donut-hole;cpos:7;\">V12 engine<\/a> manufactured by Hartley Engines in New Zealand provides motivation for the car. Lacking electrification or turbos, the engine is expected to generate more than 1,000 horsepower. Despite having no electric motors, the company said the engine\u2019s large bore and short stroke will give it a rev-happy personality similar to the behavior of <a class=\"injectedLinkmain\" href=\"https:\/\/www.autoblog.com\/hybrid\/\" data-ylk=\"elm:context_link;itc:0;pos:1;sec:donut-hole;cpos:8;\">hybrid<\/a> and <a class=\"injectedLinkmain\" href=\"https:\/\/www.autoblog.com\/electric\/\" data-ylk=\"elm:context_link;itc:0;pos:1;sec:donut-hole;cpos:9;\">electric vehicles<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>That gem is paired with a seven-speed CIMA manual transmission, and Nilu <a href=\"https:\/\/www.autoblog.com\/2020\/03\/27\/no-expense-spared-bugatti-explains-how-it-3d-prints-exotic-metal-parts\/\" data-ylk=\"elm:context_link;itc:0;pos:1;sec:donut-hole;cpos:10;\">3D-printed<\/a> all exhaust components using Inconel, a nickel-chromium superalloy that can withstand extreme heat and stress. Michelin <a class=\"injectedLinkmain\" href=\"https:\/\/www.autoblog.com\/honda\/pilot\/\" data-ylk=\"elm:context_link;itc:0;pos:1;sec:donut-hole;cpos:11;\">Pilot<\/a> Sport Cup 2 R tires wrap 20-inch front and 21-inch rear wheels, and Brembo carbon-ceramic <a class=\"injectedLinkmain\" href=\"https:\/\/www.autoblog.com\/tag\/brakes\/\" data-ylk=\"elm:context_link;itc:0;pos:1;sec:donut-hole;cpos:12;\">brakes<\/a> provide stopping power.<\/p>\n<p>The car\u2019s wild Bauhaus-inspired interior features a gated shifter and racing seats with harnesses. A center-mounted tachometer dominates the dash, while the three-spoke steering wheel is free of everything but the Nilu logo. The only screen in the car\u2019s cabin is its rearview camera mirror, as the company said it wants to keep an old-school, analog feel.<\/p>\n<p>Nilu27 said its first vehicles will be built by Aria Group in Irvine, Calif., while it focuses on building its footprint overseas.
