{"id":75562,"date":"2024-08-12T12:03:14","date_gmt":"2024-08-12T16:03:14","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/autosector.com\/?p=75562"},"modified":"2024-08-12T12:03:14","modified_gmt":"2024-08-12T16:03:14","slug":"2025-gmc-terrain-next-generation-revealed","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"http:\/\/autosector.com\/?p=75562","title":{"rendered":"2025 GMC Terrain is redesigned with bolder style and big tech"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>The 2025 <a class=\"injectedLinkmain\" href=\"https:\/\/www.autoblog.com\/gmc\/terrain\/\" data-ylk=\"elm:context_link;itc:0;pos:1;sec:donut-hole;cpos:0;\">GMC Terrain<\/a> is here, and it\u2019s following in the footsteps of <a href=\"https:\/\/www.autoblog.com\/article\/2025-chevy-equinox-preview\/\" data-ylk=\"elm:context_link;itc:0;pos:1;sec:donut-hole;cpos:1;\">its Chevrolet Equinox cousin<\/a>\u00a0but bringing the traditional <a class=\"injectedLinkmain\" href=\"https:\/\/www.autoblog.com\/gmc\/\" data-ylk=\"elm:context_link;itc:0;pos:1;sec:donut-hole;cpos:2;\">GMC<\/a> twist to the party.<\/p>\n<p>Its fresh design is noticeable straight away with a new front end inspired by <a href=\"https:\/\/www.autoblog.com\/article\/2024-gmc-canyon-review\/\" data-ylk=\"elm:context_link;itc:0;pos:1;sec:donut-hole;cpos:3;\">the GMC Canyon<\/a>. The front hood is substantially higher than before giving it a more muscular look, and the same bulking is evident in its emphasized fenders. An optional painted roof gives it some flash \u2013 it\u2019s painted gray for black cars (pictured above) and black in every other case. Bigger wheels up to 20 inches in diameter are available on the Denali. And speaking of trims, there are now just three: Elevation, AT4 and Denali.<\/p>\n<p>For 2025, the Elevation is the only model that will be on sale. GMC says both the AT4 and Denali models will follow later for model year 2026, and you can see a preview of those in the group photo below. They each have their own grille designs, wheel options and unique styling cues. As you\u2019d expect from the AT4, it also features an off-road-tuned suspension, small lift (by 12 mm) <a class=\"injectedLinkmain\" href=\"https:\/\/www.autoblog.com\/article\/best-all-terrain-tires\/\" data-ylk=\"elm:context_link;itc:0;pos:1;sec:donut-hole;cpos:4;\">all-terrain tires<\/a>, underbody skid plates, recovery hooks and a special \u201cterrain\u201d drive mode. Every next-gen <a class=\"injectedLinkmain\" href=\"https:\/\/www.autoblog.com\/gmc\/terrain\/\" data-ylk=\"elm:context_link;itc:0;pos:1;sec:donut-hole;cpos:5;\">Terrain<\/a> will be equipped with a 1.5-liter turbocharged four-cylinder paired with an eight-speed automatic transmission. That\u2019s the same powertrain as the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.autoblog.com\/2024\/04\/26\/2025-chevy-equinox-pricing-under-30000\/\" data-ylk=\"elm:context_link;itc:0;pos:1;sec:donut-hole;cpos:6;\">new Equinox<\/a>, and while <a class=\"injectedLinkmain\" href=\"https:\/\/www.autoblog.com\/category\/gm\/\" data-ylk=\"elm:context_link;itc:0;pos:1;sec:donut-hole;cpos:7;\">GM<\/a> has indicated it will move to more <a class=\"injectedLinkmain\" href=\"https:\/\/www.autoblog.com\/hybrid\/\" data-ylk=\"elm:context_link;itc:0;pos:1;sec:donut-hole;cpos:8;\">hybrid<\/a> options, there\u2019s no word on if the Terrain would be a candidate for that strategy. The 2025 model will be all-wheel drive exclusively, but GMC tells us you\u2019ll be able to select a front-drive version come the 2026 model year. If you want to <a class=\"injectedLinkmain\" href=\"https:\/\/www.autoblog.com\/2020\/06\/17\/how-to-tow\/\" data-ylk=\"elm:context_link;itc:0;pos:1;sec:donut-hole;cpos:9;\">tow<\/a>, though, you\u2019ll need the AWD version that maxes out at 1,500 pounds.<\/p>\n<p>The 2025 Terrain\u2019s interior gets a massive overhaul that\u2019ll remind you of other new GMC products with its tall portrait-oriented touchscreen. There\u2019s the 15-inch screen in the center that\u2019s accompanied by an 11-inch digital cluster, of which both are standard equipment. It runs Android Automotive software that nets you Google Maps as the native navigation system and the Google Assistant for voice queries.
