{"id":75617,"date":"2024-08-13T09:03:43","date_gmt":"2024-08-13T13:03:43","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/autosector.com\/?p=75617"},"modified":"2024-08-13T09:03:43","modified_gmt":"2024-08-13T13:03:43","slug":"1144108_singer-turbo-study-911-gets-the-slant-nose-treatment","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"http:\/\/autosector.com\/?p=75617","title":{"rendered":"Singer Turbo Study 911 gets the slant-nose treatment"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>California&#8217;s Singer has revealed a slant-nose version of its 964-generation Porsche 911-based Turbo Study, applying its typical attention to detail to that iconic design.<\/p>\n<p>First shown as a coupe in 2022, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.motorauthority.com\/news\/1135026_singer-starts-huffing-creates-turbo-study-inspired-by-930\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">the Turbo Study<\/a> follows Singer&#8217;s template of taking a <strong>964-generation 911<\/strong> chassis and backdating its appearance. In this case, the design is inspired by the earlier Porsche 930, i.e. the original 911 Turbo built from 1975 to 1989.<\/p>\n<p><span id=\"static-marker-video-player-primis\"\/><\/p>\n<p>Singer offers the Turbo Study in targa <a href=\"https:\/\/www.motorauthority.com\/news\/1136849_singer-porsche-911-turbo-study-convertible\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">and convertible forms<\/a> in addition to the coupe, and has now added a <strong>slant-nose coupe<\/strong> to the list of options. Also known as the &#8220;Flachbau&#8221; or &#8220;Flatnose,&#8221; the slant-nose treatment replaces the fixed headlights with pop-up units, creating a lower-profile nose inspired by the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.motorauthority.com\/news\/1131487_learn-about-porsche-s-legendary-moby-dick-935-78\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Porsche 935 race cars<\/a>. It was originally offered as a special-order option on the 930 and is quite rare today.<\/p>\n<p>Like other Turbo Study builds, slant-nose cars start out as donor 964 chassis supplied by the customer. These receive a full restoration, along with a <strong>930-style whale tail rear spoiler<\/strong> and flared fenders rendered in carbon fiber.<\/p>\n<div class=\"image_wrapper first_wrapper\"><img fetchpriority=\"high\" decoding=\"async\" name=\"tccimg_100938946_m\" title=\"Singer Turbo Study\" src=\"data:image\/png;base64,R0lGODlhAQABAAD\/ACwAAAAAAQABAAACADs=\" alt=\"Singer Turbo Study\" width=\"640\" height=\"360\" class=\"first_image lazy\" data-width=\"1024\" data-height=\"576\" data-url=\"https:\/\/images.hgmsites.net\/lrg\/singer-turbo-study_100938946_l.webp\" data-src-h=\"https:\/\/images.hgmsites.net\/hug\/singer-turbo-study_100938946_h.webp\" data-src=\"https:\/\/images.hgmsites.net\/lrg\/singer-turbo-study_100938946_l.webp\" data-src-l=\"https:\/\/images.hgmsites.net\/lrg\/singer-turbo-study_100938946_l.webp\" data-src-m=\"https:\/\/images.hgmsites.net\/med\/singer-turbo-study_100938946_m.webp\" data-src-s=\"https:\/\/images.hgmsites.net\/sml\/singer-turbo-study_100938946_s.webp\"\/><\/p>\n<p>Singer Turbo Study<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<p>A twin-turbocharged <strong>3.8-liter flat-6 produces 450 hp<\/strong> as standard and 510 hp with a <a href=\"https:\/\/www.motorauthority.com\/news\/1136199_singer-reveals-its-porsche-930-inspired-turbo-study-with-added-sports-focus\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Sports Focus package<\/a>. The power is sent to the rear wheels through a 6-speed manual transmission. Bosch-supplied traction control and electronic stability, as well as Michelin Pilot Sport 4S tires, should make Turbo Study cars less of a handful than the 930 Turbos that inspired them.
