But in a press release Mazda said the EZ-6 will be &#8220;officially launched in the <strong>fall of 2024<\/strong> as a global model,&#8221; going on sale in <strong>China first, followed by Europe<\/strong>. The U.S. wasn&#8217;t mentioned, but the &#8220;global&#8221; phrasing does at least leave the possibility of U.S. sales open\u2014depending, perhaps, on U.S. tariff, trade, and EV policy after the November elections.<\/p>\n<p><span id=\"static-marker-video-player-primis\"\/><\/p>\n<p data-pm-slice=\"1 1 []\">The announcement didn&#8217;t include any further information about the EZ-6. Adding to that, the all-electric version will also feature an ideal 50:50 front-rear weight distribution, Mazda said at the time of the reveal. A <a href=\"https:\/\/www.greencarreports.com\/news\/1140347_mazda-mx-30-ev-cut-from-us-lineup-rotary-version-too\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">rotary range-extended version<\/a> of that crossover never even made it to the U.S.<\/p>\n<p data-pm-slice=\"1 1 []\">The EZ-6 is definitely a long-range EV, but <a href=\"https:\/\/www.greencarreports.com\/news\/1138642_mazda-us-boss-longer-range-evs-aren-t-the-future\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">a U.S. Mazda executive<\/a> just last year clearly stated that it <strong>doesn&#8217;t see long-range EVs as the future<\/strong>, predicting that EV buyers will learn, evolve, and shift their priorities, and in doing so realize they don&#8217;t really need much range.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Mazda on Tuesday announced that the EZ-6 electric sedan will be its first global-market EV.
