Polestar CEO Thomas Ingenlath \u201cstrongly believes\u201d the new electric SUV is the best looking and best driving on the market. But is it really?<\/p>\n<p><span id=\"more-375762\"\/><\/p>\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"h-polestar-builds-its-first-electric-suv-in-the-us\">Polestar builds its first electric SUV in the US<\/h2>\n<p>\u201cManufacturing Polestar 3 in the USA is a crucial step for us,\u201d Ingenlath said at the event. \u201cNow we offer customers in America an electric SUV that is built in America.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>The Polestar 3 is the brand\u2019s first EV built on two continents. After production <a href=\"https:\/\/electrek.co\/2024\/02\/27\/polestar-3-production-kicks-off-in-china-us-builds-will-soon-follow\/\">kicked off in China <\/a>in April, Polestar\u2019s electric SUV is now being made in the US. Polestar plans to export Polestar 3 models to Europe, which will \u201cstrengthen our business on a broader scope,\u201d according to Ingenlath.<\/p>\n<p>Polestar calls its new model \u201cThe performance SUV for the electric age.\u201d The electric SUV fuses its signature Scandinavian design with advanced software and powertrain tech.<\/p>\n<p>Starting at $73,400 in the US, the Polestar 3 gets up to 315 miles EPA-est range. It\u2019s also loaded with an advanced AWD electric system, torque vectoring, active air suspension, and more for a smoother, more confident drive.<\/p>\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"h-the-best-on-the-market\">The best on the market?<\/h2>\n<p>\u201cI strongly believe this is the best looking and best driving SUV in the market today,\u201d Polestar\u2019s CEO boasted as <a href=\"https:\/\/media.polestar.com\/global\/en\/media\/pressreleases\/683156\">US production<\/a> kicked off.<\/p>\n<p>With a sleek, aerodynamic design, the Polestar 3 is a stunning vehicle from head to toe. The Polestar 3 includes a 9\u2033 driver display and a 14.5\u2033 infotainment with Google built-in. Optional features include a Head-up display and a Bowers &amp; Wilkins sound system with 3D surround sound.<\/p>\n<p>The low-sitting sports seats offer a different feel from most SUVs on the market today. The brand <a href=\"https:\/\/investors.polestar.com\/news-releases\/news-release-details\/polestar-publishes-results-first-quarter-and-reports-80-growth\">delivered 20,200 vehicles globally<\/a> in the first six months of 2024, but with two new SUVs hitting the market, Polestar believes it will build momentum going into 2025.<\/p>\n<p>After the US and EU <a href=\"https:\/\/electrek.co\/2024\/06\/12\/how-new-eu-tariffs-impact-chinese-ev-makers-byd-nio\/\">introduced new tariffs<\/a> on EV imports from China, Polestar looks to sidestep potential impacts by producing vehicles in South Carolina.<\/p>\n<p>The <a href=\"https:\/\/electrek.co\/guides\/polestar-2\/\">Polestar 2<\/a>, its luxury electric sedan, helped establish the EV brand, but its new electric SUV is expected to play a bigger role as it looks to accelerate growth.<\/p>\n<p>Polestar is also launching the Polestar 4, its crossover coupe SUV. Polestar 4 production is expected to begin in South Korea in the middle of 2025.<\/p>\n<p>Ingenlath <a href=\"https:\/\/electrek.co\/2024\/03\/27\/polestar-4-unveiled-us-tesla-model-y-rival-56k-price\/\">previously said<\/a> the Polestar 4 is \u201cmore premium, more luxurious\u201d than the Tesla Model Y.
