The event celebrates the highest echelon of automotive excellence, featuring unveilings of new luxury cars, supercars, and hypercars while showcasing the most significant classics influencing automotive history with their design, engineering, and innovation. Winning Best of Show at this year\u2019s The Quail is a particularly incredible classic car, a 1937 Delahaye Type 135.<\/p>\n<p>The stunning car was inducted into the Rolex Circle of Champions on The Quail Golf Club\u2019s greens. Originally made as an open-wheel race car, the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.dupontregistry.com\/autos\/results\/delahaye\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Delahaye<\/a> Type <a href=\"https:\/\/www.dupontregistry.com\/autos\/results\/delahaye\/135\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">135<\/a> had a 12-cylinder engine capable of 240 horsepower, an incredible number considering the day and age. It\u2019s believed to have been driven by Renee Dreyfus in the Prix du Million, the 1938 Pau Grand Prix, and the Cork Grand Prix. Eventually, it was given new bodywork as a roadgoing sports car, covering its original racing components.<\/p>\n<p>Other award-winning cars at this year\u2019s The Quail included a 1949 MG TC, which won the \u201cSpirit of The Quail\u201d award, and the 1963 Jaguar E-type FHC, which won the Hagerty Drivers Foundation Award.
