Although we knew <a href=\"https:\/\/electrek.co\/guides\/lucid-motors\/\">Lucid<\/a> was planning a new mid-size electric SUV to rival Tesla\u2019s best-selling Model Y, two other EVs are scheduled to roll out.<\/p>\n<p><span id=\"more-376762\"\/><\/p>\n<p>CEO Peter Rawlinson <a href=\"https:\/\/electrek.co\/2023\/09\/05\/lucid-targets-50k-ev-right-heart-of-tesla-model-y-territory\/\">confirmed last year<\/a> that Lucid was developing an EV priced around $50,000. Rawlinson said the new vehicle was aimed \u201cright in the heart of Tesla Model 3, Model Y territory.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>After teasing the new Tesla rival earlier this year, we got a preview of Lucid\u2019s first mass-market model, a mid-size electric SUV.<\/p>\n<p>Now, we are learning Lucid is actually planning to launch three new affordable EVs. Speaking with <em><a href=\"https:\/\/carbuzz.com\/lucid-will-make-three-affordable-electric-vehicles\/\">CarBuzz<\/a><\/em>, Lucid\u2019s senior VP of design, Derek Jenkins, described its \u201cmid-size program,\u201d saying it will include multiple vehicles.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThey\u2019re going to be younger vehicles, they\u2019re going to be more athletic vehicles,\u201d Jenkins explained. But what will the third be?<\/p>\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"h-lucid-to-take-on-tesla-with-three-affordable-evs\">Lucid to take on Tesla with three affordable EVs<\/h2>\n<p>Although Jenkins said he and all the engineers are \u201chuge wagon fans,\u201d he doesn\u2019t expect a Lucid station wagon EV anytime soon. Jenkins admitted it\u2019s a \u201cdying segment,\u201d and he doesn\u2019t see Lucid \u201cgoing out on that limb.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>A rugged off-road Lucid EV may be more likely.
