He joined Volvo as its design chief in 2012 and was appointed Polestar&#8217;s CEO when the Volvo performance division became a standalone brand in 2017.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cPhilipp\u2019s modern approach to automotive design and experience from the luxury, performance segment will really support us as we take the next step in developing our model lineup,\u201d Ingenlath said in a statement.<\/p>\n<p>Designs for Polestar&#8217;s next models, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.motorauthority.com\/news\/1143795_first-ride-2026-polestar-5-performance-sedan-targets-tesla-model-s\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">the 5 sedan<\/a> and <a href=\"https:\/\/www.motorauthority.com\/news\/1136836_polestar-6-reveal-date\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">6 sports car<\/a>, have already been shown. Beyond those models, Polestar will launch a model dubbed the 7, a vehicle whose design may be the first project at Polestar for R\u00f6mers.<\/p>\n<p>Ingenlath earlier this year revealed that the 7, due around 2027, will be <a href=\"https:\/\/www.motorauthority.com\/news\/1142757_polestar-2-to-be-replaced-by-polestar-7\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">an indirect replacement<\/a> for the current 2 compact hatchback. Ingenlath said Polestar doesn&#8217;t want to redesign the same vehicle over and over again but wants to <strong>introduce new form factors<\/strong> to ensure the brand remains innovative and fresh.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Polestar on Wednesday named Philipp R\u00f6mers as its new design chief.
