They will also be &#8220;compact, lighter vehicles&#8221; compared to the Air, he noted.<\/p>\n<p>One of these vehicles could be the <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.greencarreports.com\/news\/1142114_lucid-teases-potential-model-y-rival-as-it-expands-for-gravity-suv\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">potential Tesla Model Y rival<\/a><\/strong> Lucid teased in January at the opening of the second manufacturing stage of its Casa Grande, Arizona, assembly plant. Lucid referred to this model as &#8220;Project Midsize&#8221; in that announcement, in which the company said engineering prototypes of the vehicle already existed.<\/p>\n<p>In the interview, Jenkins didn&#8217;t confirm any other body styles but shot down the idea of a station wagon, noting that this segment is shrinking even in Europe, where wagons have retained greater market share than in the U.S.<\/p>\n<p>A sedan to compete with the Model 3 and complement the Model Y competitor makes sense. Lucid CEO Peter Rawlinson has told Green Car Reports in the past\u00a0he likes the Golf size and format and would love to make an <strong>affordable and sporty hatchback<\/strong>.\u00a0<\/p>\n<div class=\"image_wrapper\"><img decoding=\"async\" name=\"tccimg_100905651_m\" title=\"Lucid Gravity\" src=\"data:image\/png;base64,R0lGODlhAQABAAD\/ACwAAAAAAQABAAACADs=\" alt=\"Lucid Gravity\" width=\"640\" height=\"426\" data-width=\"1024\" data-height=\"682\" data-url=\"https:\/\/images.hgmsites.net\/lrg\/lucid_100905651_l.webp\" data-src-h=\"https:\/\/images.hgmsites.net\/hug\/lucid_100905651_h.webp\" data-src=\"https:\/\/images.hgmsites.net\/lrg\/lucid_100905651_l.webp\" data-src-l=\"https:\/\/images.hgmsites.net\/lrg\/lucid_100905651_l.webp\" data-src-m=\"https:\/\/images.hgmsites.net\/med\/lucid_100905651_m.webp\" data-src-s=\"https:\/\/images.hgmsites.net\/sml\/lucid_100905651_s.webp\" class=\"lazy\"\/><\/p>\n<p>Lucid Gravity<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<p>In the meantime, Lucid is moving ahead with the <strong>launch of the Gravity<\/strong>. The SUV was unveiled in 2023 and pre-production units started rolling off the assembly line in January.
