But it will be some time before other versions of the electric pickup reach dealerships.<\/p>\n<p>The limited-edition launch version of the Sierra EV arrives with a <strong>starting price of $99,495<\/strong> with a $1,995 destination fee\u2014a few thousand less than the price suggested when the Sierra EV <a href=\"https:\/\/www.greencarreports.com\/news\/1137552_2024-gmc-sierra-denali-ev-preview\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">was first previewed<\/a>\u00a0by Green Car Reports in 2022. The launch model&#8217;s <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.greencarreports.com\/news\/1142887_2024-gmc-sierra-ev-denali-range-price\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">440-mile EPA range<\/a><\/strong> is also about 10% more than originally suggested.<\/p>\n<p><span id=\"static-marker-video-player-primis\"\/><\/p>\n<p>Bearing GMC&#8217;s top-luxury Denali badge, the Edition 1 features adaptive air suspension, rear-wheel steering, and the CrabWalk feature from the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.greencarreports.com\/news\/1142444_gmc-hummer-ev-joins-gas-guzzlers-meanest-environment\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">GMC Hummer EV<\/a>. The latter distinguishes the GMC from the top-trim <a href=\"https:\/\/www.greencarreports.com\/news\/1142762_2024-chevy-silverado-ev-rst-coming-with-price-cut-440-mile-range\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">2024 Chevrolet Silverado EV RST<\/a>. Like their internal-combustion counterparts, the Sierra EV and Silverado EV are essentially twins, with the main differences coming down to styling and some feature content.<\/p>\n<div class=\"image_wrapper first_wrapper\" readability=\"7\"><img fetchpriority=\"high\" decoding=\"async\" name=\"tccimg_100861319_m\" title=\"2024 GMC Sierra EV Denali Edition 1\" src=\"data:image\/png;base64,R0lGODlhAQABAAD\/ACwAAAAAAQABAAACADs=\" alt=\"2024 GMC Sierra EV Denali Edition 1\" width=\"640\" height=\"426\" class=\"first_image lazy\" data-width=\"1024\" data-height=\"683\" data-url=\"https:\/\/images.hgmsites.net\/lrg\/gmc_100861319_l.jpg\" data-src-h=\"https:\/\/images.hgmsites.net\/hug\/gmc_100861319_h.jpg\" data-src=\"https:\/\/images.hgmsites.net\/lrg\/gmc_100861319_l.jpg\" data-src-l=\"https:\/\/images.hgmsites.net\/lrg\/gmc_100861319_l.jpg\" data-src-m=\"https:\/\/images.hgmsites.net\/med\/gmc_100861319_m.jpg\" data-src-s=\"https:\/\/images.hgmsites.net\/sml\/gmc_100861319_s.jpg\"\/><\/p>\n<p>2024 GMC Sierra EV Denali Edition 1<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<p>Edition 1 models have a dual-motor powertrain producing up to 754 hp and 785 lb-ft of torque, enabling 0-60 mph acceleration in 4.5 seconds and a maximum towing capacity of 10,000 lbs that&#8217;s slightly higher than the 9,500 pounds originally suggested. A midgate pass-through\u2014pioneered by GM in the 2000s\u2014allows the truck to swallow items up to 11 feet long. A front trunk is included as well.<\/p>\n<p>With a dual-layer battery pack expected to be the same <strong>205 kwh<\/strong> as top trims of the Hummer EV, the Sierra EV can take full advantage of <strong>350-kw, 800-volt charging connectors<\/strong>, according to GMC, allowing up to 100 miles of range in 10 minutes. Bidirectional charging at up to 10.2 kw allows the Sierra EV to serve as a mobile power source.<\/p>\n<p>The truck rides on massive 24-inch wheels and features a generously-sized 16.8-inch infotainment touchscreen. The Super Cruise highway driving-assistance system, which can be used while towing a trailer, is also available. GMC has suggested all along that it might not be &#8220;high-volume entry&#8221; electric truck that GM CEO Mary Barra stressed in describing the Silverado EV, so work-truck variants like those offered for the Chevy likely aren&#8217;t planned. GMC has said that an AT4 off-road model is on the way, as well as an entry-level Elevation model priced around $50,000.<\/p>\n<p>These other versions likely won&#8217;t arrive right away, though.
